This song is a beautiful ode to the sunset with its rosie-red colors. The narrator, having just watched the sunset evade into apricot tips on an Indigo sky, feels that the sunset inspired a melody - picks up his horn and plays a tune. Before thinking a bit about the lyrics, one could expect "Rosie" to be a woman in the narrators life. The sunset however makes much more sense. If you consider the chorus: The narrator have loved Rosie since he was born, will continue till he dies, and Rosie evades. The sunset evades every night, yet keeps playing a part in his life. A love interest would not have been there from he was born, and if she evaded him, he would probably get over it before he dies. |
