i see this song as a sort personal experience i had. About a month ago i started having these regular make-out sessions with this guy. The beginning of the song was basically how it describes it for me, kinda like a new world opening up for. The middle part is like "oh nice, i got this dude i can make-out with" (only my senses remain), so whenever in the moment, i was glad with it. In the end of the song its also how i felt after i'd leave his house and go home. "how can love remain the same unchanged?", i found myself getting uncomftorble with it and cut it off. I figured i just wasn't into it like that, neither am i (so far i know) really into blokes. Shitty thing is now is that he is quite emotionally attached to me and is starting to be quite possesive overme, he is not really okay overall either. He uses me mainly for comfort but than also kinda downtalks me. Still figuring out how to deal with the situation but either how. Thats how i view the song from personal experience. I think the original meaning is a whole something else. beautiful song tho, i really, really like it :) Also helps me calm down and concetrate lol |

i personally see this song as someone taking the role of a mother figure (or actual mother) that actually tries to understand their kid. I listen to this song often when i dont feel alright, or oddly emptyly confused. I like to think that its a mother speaking to me cause i know my own would never speak to me like this. Love to Siouxsie and the Banshees :) |
