Alice asked Mark, how and why he was awarded, "Man of the Year" and Mark said he had no clue. Alice and Mark laughed about this "award.". Alice gave Mark a 5 Iron golf club, to give to President Bush. After the song came out, Alice told Mark and his wife, Phyllis, that that meeting in 2010n inspired the song. Alice, used artistic liv and made the "Man of the Year," A total conformist, that always followed the rules, accomplice opposite of Mark. The line in the song, " the President plays golf with me, Imade Maddona faint, " was Alice\'s way of including Mark in this song. The golf referencen is because if the advisor relationship Mark had with the President and the golf club he gave him from Alice. The mention of Maddona, is because her last name is Ciccone, the sane as Mark. Mark and Alice started a friendship, that continues today.

Alice Cooper – Man Of The Year Lyrics 3 years ago
This song was written with a fan of Alice\'s, Mark Ciccone in mind, who was awarded Man of the Year designation by the N.R.C.C., when he served as an advisor to President G W.Bush. Alice asked Mark what he did to be named, Man of the Year, and Mark said he had no idea. Alice and Mark shared a laugh about the whole, Man of the Year, thing and Alice wrote this song using artistic license, to make The Man of The Year, a total conformist that never bucked the system, the complete opposite of who Mark really was. The line, "the President plays golf with me; I made Maddona faint, was how Alice made it known to only a few insiders that he had Mark in mind, when he wrote the song. As a Presidential Advisor, Mark had a close relationship with President Bush, and Alice gave Mark a 5 Iron to give to the President. Maddona is used, because her last name is Ciccone, the same last name as Mark. Alice and Mark Ciccone have been friends since meeting each other in 2005.
