This song is about being young, a teen. Remember those days?. They were great and they really sucked! at the same time. Parents don't understand you and sometimes you don't understand you. There were girls and beer, and pressure,and cars and fun and death and parents. And the one true escape.....music. I was in 6th grade when I bought Queen Live Killers and this song "live"(as loud as I could play it) got me through the turmoil until i graduated High School. |

When I got married I told my (soon to be wife) I wanted a Queen song played at our wedding.She was not on board. I'm sure she had her thoughts on songs I would pick. I set it up with the DJ to play this song at our introduction of "welcome Mr. and Mrs. Blah Blah , AS LOUD AS YOU CAN! All that scratching,creaking and twisting sounds in the beginning was awesome! people didn't know what to think. Then Freddy's voice and John's bass and then a piano. Thanks Queen. |

So I didn't read all the comments because there's way to many. The beauty of music and NOT video is you get the privilege of taking from what you hear and need.
You take away; silholouetto,scaramouch,gallileo and bismillah! and what you have is a country song(leave in the Devil part) Throw in a fiddle a banjo and a squeeze box....."country song". Reminds me "Knockin' on heaven's door". |

I'm from a small town in Ohio and there's rivers and hollows and small lakes, indian mounds and a crap load of memories.In the late 70's and early 80's you couldn't tell if it was the 1900's or 1800's. This song always reminds of those thoughts. It takes me home every time(with a little funk in it). I've tried going back there to find those memories but I can't, but I can in this song. I think that's what it's about. |
