Leaving Home Ain't Easy Lyrics
I take a step outside
And I breathe the air
And I slam the door
And I'm on my way
I won't lay no blame
I won't call you names
'Cause I've made my break
And I won't look back
I've turned my back
On those endless games
I'm all through with ties
I'm all tired of tears
I'm a happy man
Don't it look that way?
Shakin' dust from my shoes
There's a road ahead
And there's no way back home (no way back home)
Oh, but I have to say
Leaving home ain't easy
Oh, I never thought it would be easy
Leaving on your own
Oh, is the main thing calling me back
Leaving home ain't easy
On the one you're leaving home
Stay, my love, my love, please stay
Stray, my love, what's wrong, my love?
What's right, my love?
Oh, leaving home ain't easy
I thought how could I think of leaving
Leaving on your own
Still tryin' to persuade me that
Leaving home ain't necessarily the only way
Leaving home ain't easy
But may be the only way
And I breathe the air
And I slam the door
And I'm on my way
I won't call you names
'Cause I've made my break
And I won't look back
I've turned my back
On those endless games
I'm all tired of tears
I'm a happy man
Don't it look that way?
There's a road ahead
And there's no way back home (no way back home)

The people at home don't understand you so you have to leave to figure it all out. It means many things, you want to go home but as they say "You can never go home again." Good song for going to college...

actually i think this one is about a breakup, leaving your home and the home of a lover possibly. note it says the "one" you're leaving home, as well as the lone voice begging him to stay
This is my absolute favorite song that Brian May does for Queen. He has such a great voice. Easy listening. He's no Freddie.....but it still adds some variety to their music. This song is so true because it makes me think about going away for college, or leaving my parents house. The lyrics are quite simple. "Leaving home ain't easy" It's all in the title. ilyFreddie<3
I think........it's about Brian's divorce from his first wife. But there are many applications. It fits a lot of settings in life. I adapt better to Brian's songs.
@1more4theroad ermm... i don't think it was about his divorce from his first wife. they didn't divorce until 1988 and this was written for an album 10 years before that
