The Orwells – They Put a Body in the Bayou Lyrics 6 years ago
Such a good song. I'm pretty sure it is a reference to Frankie Richard and the Jeff Davis 8. Look this up if you've never heard of it.

Essentially 8 girls were murdered in or near Jennings, LA (Jefferson Davis Parish) and their bodies were found in the bayou. It seems like it was their drug dealer Frankie Richard, who knew all of them, admitted he had sex with all but one of them (the 14 year old, of course), and had tires to the local police department. Screams police corruption from top to bottom.

James – Laid Lyrics 8 years ago
This has been bothering me for decades.

This song is obviously about an abusive (or at least unstable) relationship.

It came out when censorship was necessary to succeed, due to MTV and radio play being what can make or break you.

Listen to the last words, sung in the famous falsetto. It's what the song is most known for. The lyrics say "laid".

The first time I heard it, I heard "Array". I saw the name of the song was "laid", and took it at face value.

But, I would bet my LIFE that it is not an L sound (as in "laid"). It is definitely an R sound.

At the end of the song, he is saying "RAPE"
