DW really has a knack for the double entendre and meanings within meanings doesn't he? 🥰🫶😻

David Wilcox – Leave It Like It Is Lyrics 1 year ago
I recommend this song and Baz Luhrmann's 'Everybody's free to wear sunscreen' for advice... But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.
Do. Not. Read. Beauty. Magazines. They. Will. Only. Make. You. Feel. Ugly.

A song about a car.
A song about a nation.
A song about a society.
A song about me.

Life. It's funny like that. 😎
Your slang. Your colloquialisms. Your fashion. Your tattoos and piercings. All of this has happened to before and will happen again… all in response to the same poorly understood urges and earnings.

David Wilcox – How Did You Find Me Here Lyrics 1 year ago
Pick your superlative, the singer, the song and the album deserve them all.
The dichotomy, the conflicting desires to be saved and to simply fade away, unnoticed, unremarked, unmourned. At least that's what it says to me. 😸

David Wilcox – Eye Of The Hurricane Lyrics 1 year ago
Terrific song that works on so many levels. Our lives are so subjective, it means different things for different folks sometime several things at the same time. Least that's the way it is for me.
Sometimes it's about the thrill of riding a crotch rocket. Sometimes it's about the darkness staring back at you. Sometimes it's about the weariness and the wishing that it would just end... Whatever it means to you, I take my cue from V & John Donne, & I wish you strength & courage, I love you even though I've never met you because I am part of humanity, & every last diminishes us.

@[Superx3000:51925] a decade and a half later, but I'm here to tell you you're not wrong. It's also subjective, so intensely personal. I think you and I are about the same vintage, and I hope things are smooth out for you. I hope you found the person you wanted or the strength and courage and acceptance to be OK without them. & I wish the same and a life of years free from tears for Timmorn Yellow Eyes who replied 10 months ago... strength & courage brother, this howl is for your love mate and lifemate-to-be taken too soon. Ayooah!

@[bigducky:51924] "Something so fierce we can hide in it". Indeed. Well said. 17 years later but on the off chance read this, I hope things went smooth for you and you had a life of years free from tears.

Billy Joel – Storm Front Lyrics 7 years ago
Listening to the Billy Joel channel on satellite radio and he shared the genesis of this tune; it was inspired by Peter Gabriel‘s sledgehammer. He liked the rythm & the pacing.
I think it feels very nautical; like the sea, deceptively gentle & completely irresistible, there’s an inevitability to its progression.

Starbuck – Moonlight Feels Right Lyrics 8 years ago
@[heatherfer:23542] Holy sha-moley lady! You don’t just have issues, you’ve got the complete subscription! I can only imagine how you review meatloaf and Paradise by the dashboard lights, or kid Creole and the coconuts no more casual sex! Your train of thought is loaded with toxic sludge. Melodically and rhythmically this is beautiful. Lyrically it’s about a couple of consenting adults engaged in harmless pleasure. Anything beyond that is gross speculation based on projection of personal experience. I hope whatever unpleasantness you survived has healed and you’ve been able to find the good stuff again.
Do you make some good points I agree with in your passive aggressive evaluation; especially the unusual instrument solo.
