It's a love story. The guy had resigned himself to his life, ready to retire and content with riding into the sunset, when he met this younger woman and they really liked each other a lot. Over time as they got to know each other it developed into more, and she fell irresistibly in love with him. He felt it too, but he felt too old to start over again and was unsure that anything this bright could last--he'd seen it all, the way love breaks down, and was not interested in going down that path again only to be disappointed. For her part, she had never felt this way before, and even though he kept saying he didn't want to go for this, she also felt his desire to go for it. So she knows he wants her, but doesn't believe he really wants her because he's conflicted. He knows she wants him but he doesn't believe she really wants someone older, doesn't believe that her love will last. They go in circles, but the circles keep getting smaller and smaller, and they are bound to meet in the center...or he is bound to let her go. Who knows what will happen? The story continues.... |
