I wrote my senior (HS) english paper on this album, and I has always conclude that this song alluded to the attainment of a godlike form through the journey described in the album. Being an atheist, this was always an interesting ponderence of mine, and even though several of the band members were devout christians, I always felt their lyrics were essentially purely philosophical, and not religiously skewed. Wonderful stuff that still resonates with me today |
