Copeland – Disjointed Lyrics 3 years ago
To me this song perfectly explains the uncertainty of leaving the ground and being swept out into love, but grabbing onto your partner and knowing there’s a certain peace in going through it together.

Maria Taylor – Light House Lyrics 4 years ago
To me, this song is about hope, happiness, innocence, and unsullied love —

- the hope of children, singing, their whole lives ahead of them, with no concept of whether or not their voices sound pleasant or marketable, they aren’t bound by the opinions of others or the need for fame, money, or anything superficial,

- the joy of runners enjoying the act of running, with no reason to consider the beginning or end of the the run itself,

- the love and hope of two partners, dancing, whirling round, feet metaphorically unable to touch the ground, defying both gravity and the “rules” or hard realities that can frequently push people apart

- the hope metaphorically embodied by the lighthouse, a refuge in the dark, a welcome sight when lost at sea, the ultimate symbol of safety and homecoming

I love this song. It’s bittersweet not just in its sound but in its best line: “don’t expect too much, okay — the best or the worst might have passed anyway.”

I think the overall message is to stay in the present. Try to enjoy your life and your happiness as it comes. Be grateful for whatever brings both hope and joy in your life, and unburdened by worry or memory. And the bittersweet promise is left unsaid: you’ll likely be able to weather storms by keeping your eye on the light.
