W.A.S.P. – Loco-Motive Man (And the Killer Babies) Lyrics 7 years ago
@[o484:24815] You're wrong I'm afraid. The song deals with a massacre in one of american secondary schools. Loco-motive refers not only to a railway engine but also to the crazy ( aka LOCO) motIve that dominates the actions and behaviour of the song character- his wish to punish those who bullied him by shooting them. That 's why ..."I'M GONNA MEET MY MAKER ... I'M COMING DOWN TO TAKE YOU ALL..."
Great song with magnificient clever lyrics

Ultravox – Visions In Blue Lyrics 8 years ago
As far as I understand the sense of the lyrics( I must admit that I'm not a native speaker myself, though this song is my ultimate favourite of the band's stuff, and I contemplated its lyrics many times), I can imagine a man in his 40-es, who's walking down the street alone and without any different purpose. Suddenly a face in the window ( maybe a face from his past, maybe not, just kinda trigger) awakens in his mind the dearest memories of his youth that seemed to have been buried down long ago. The dying embers of long lost pasion seem to begin to burn again. The storm of emotions on his face and tears that all of the sudden fill his eyes may even scare passers-by. Just listen, how Midge's singing illustrates this flood of feelings, getting more and more emotional from the 1-st verse to 2-nd and finding its culmination at the end of the third verse. And the repeated 1-st verse at the end of the song which is sung less emotionally than the third one, expresses the end of the soul storm, ashes still aglow but fire has faded.

Deep Purple – Love Conquers All Lyrics 8 years ago
@[gtet579:18199] I partly disagree with you. Truly the very beginning of the song is very sad, as it precisely describes the utter desperation of a person losing his ( in this case) love. Not only a lover herself but faith in love, in unity of souls, complete mutual understanding, compassion etc. LOSING YOUR DREAM. But I imagine a guy who after some period of sadness met a new love, a girl in the course of her of life having come accross the same loss of her dreams. And he's trying to overcome her pain and distrust persuading her in the power of his love: that he'll be the one who will never let her dreams die. That's why the song is ended on an optimistic note:
Love conquers all, THIS ONE ( new one) will last a lifetime
And if love conquers all
THIS ONE will last forever.

In fact in my opinion this one is the best PURPLE's love song ( with perhaps SOLDIER OF FORTUNE only close to) from my favourite album of the band.

Jethro Tull – Bends Like A Willow Lyrics 8 years ago
I' d like Tull fans to express their opinions about the following verses:

''..With a fully armed angel to cover me quickly.
I'm cool under enemy fire.
If I fall, she can crawl right under the wire. ''

So in my opinion she can crawl right under the wire to continue the mission doing that not so straightforwardly, as a man can do. But a female friend of mine while discussing the song with me has said, that she d' rather think of kinda sister of mercy who will save her wounded friend from the battlefield. What conception seem to be more relevant for you personally: mine ( continuation of the mission) or my friend's ( rescuing a wounded friend and lover). Does the interpretation from your point of view depend of the listener's gender? Everyone is welcome to express his/her opinioin/

Nazareth – Please Don't Judas Me Lyrics 8 years ago
@[Zanary:18026] I' d like to know your opinion about the following:. WHAT'S YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF THE REFRAIN "PLEASE DON'T JUDAS ME''' ? Is that just similar, synonymous to PLEASE DON'T BETRAY ME as the very name of Judas is the personification of betrayal in western culture. Or does this phrase mean DON'T YOU LOOK AFTER ME THROUGH THE PEEPHOLE- don't you spy, just trust me. Several days ago I had a conversation with a friend of mine. She recalled the diary she had written being a teenager. Though she never showed it to anybody and never wanted it to be seen by anyone else, once the girl discovered to her dissatisfaction from remarks and questions of her mother that the latter had found it and had read it. In this case mother violated her daughter's privacy demonstrating lack of trust, treating her daughter as if she were an irresponsible child to be kept under her total control. It seems to me that in this case the very lack of mother's trust leading to violation of her daughter's privacy by watching her secrets through the peephole of her diary is a kind of betrayal. SO THE DISTRUST AS BETRAYAL, DISTRUST LEADING TO BETRAYAL. Is that what Mr McCafferty meant while writing lyrics for this song?
