Kim plays the central guitar hook in the track...one of those simple but effective repeating riffs that totally makes the song. She had a similarly simple yet equally effective repeating guitar phrase in Nevermind (What Was It Anyway) on the album New York City Ghosts & Flowers. |

Possibly my favorite Lee song. I too read that the title was a nod to Joni Mitchell, but also agree that the lyrics were probably not inspired by her. |

This song is seriously underrated. The lyrics and Kim's delivery are pretty hilarious, recalling some of Yoko Ono's freestyle vocalizations, although the music is more interesting than much of Yoko's work and give the song a much stronger hook factor. I decided to sync up the song some visuals that add to the silliness of the song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBSJ2ARhfIo). I have a theory that people who dislike this song do not understand Kim's twisted sense of humour. |

This lyric, and the entire verse even, is just so evocative. The last line always makes me laugh out loud. I wonder whether she intended the double-entendre that is implied by the context of "gut reactions"? Knowing Joni, I doubt any potential angle went over her head! |

@[TrueThomas:17511] You have a real knack for for getting to the heart of a lyric and elaborating on it beautifully. Perhaps you should consider writing lyrics yourself, if you haven't already. I'm pretty good with connecting to a lyric's essence, but I'm not nearly as good at breaking it down as you are. Cheers! |
