| Coil – Amber Rain Lyrics | 6 years ago |
|
Thinking of the most popular Amber colored liquid (Beer), this could be about alcohol dependence. "Caught between weak and being strong" The addiction makes you weak but alcohol frequently creates the self delusion of strength: In the sense of confidence or a guy who gets into drunken bar brawls. The deeper darker waters could be sinking deeper into dependence. Life trickling through your hands: Time vanishes when your a drunk. I don't quite know what to make of the dull warm red water, I assume blood. I'm not sure how that would play into the drunkard's lament theory. |

| John Prine – The Accident (Things Could Be Worse) Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| Well I certainly don't think Prine meant any ill will towards "minorities" : The song is making fun of the 'well, things could be worse' mindset. "They don't know how lucky they are," when you get in an accident the damage is minor the default response seems to be "luckily there was not much damage, luckily no one was killed." He's playing with that and has an odd sense of humor. | |
