I love this song as well. I cannot really relate to it except putting myself in my boyfriends position. I feel that sometimes he misses his ex, because I would see her name randomely pop up in my searches, when I know it wasn't me who searched it, it was him. Sometimes it sucks knowing that you weren't his first, and sometimes it hurts me because he's my first love, but he told me I would be his last and that's all that matters. So back to how it relates to me in my boyfriends position, I can somewhat feel the pain he felt when his ex cheated on him. I sometimes just cry knowing how she could possibly do that to someone she "loved." They've been together for 5 years and it hurts me knowing that he still thinks of her after me and him been together for a year already. But like I said, I cry knowing that he kept taking her back, even through the pain she caused him. "I get so tired, living like this, I don't have the time, neither do my friends, to pull me through, and to find the things to get my mind off of you." I know he loves me, I just wish he hadn't been hurt like that. It hurts me knowing that the girl did this to him. I'm sure he sacrificed more than a lot for her. He cannot even bear to say her name, so that's how I know he is not completely over her, I don't think anyone really gets completely over someone. I can't imagine a life without my boyfriend, so...I know this really wasn't even about the song meaning sorry about that haha! I just felt like expressing how I feel when listening to this song. |

I love this song. I feel that this song is about a guy who decides to end it with his girlfriend because he thinks the grass is greener on the other side, either being single or leaving her for an ex, or even a new girl. He then realizes that after a while of being "free", it's not all that it seems and he misses her, he realizes she was his other half. She was completely heartbroken when he did this, because it all came out of the blue. He regrets what he did, but she does not want to hear it from him that he misses her because her heart still hurts and she can't bear to look at him. "Keep it to yourself, if you think that you still love me." The thoughts cross her mind and she is trying to move on by keeping him away. Possibly even no contact. I love this song :) |
