Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.

Respect the structure

I love this song. I feel that this song is about a guy who decides to end it with his girlfriend because he thinks the grass is greener on the other side, either being single or leaving her for an ex, or even a new girl. He then realizes that after a while of being "free", it's not all that it seems and he misses her, he realizes she was his other half. She was completely heartbroken when he did this, because it all came out of the blue. He regrets what he did, but she does not want to hear it from him that he misses her because her heart still hurts and she can't bear to look at him. "Keep it to yourself, if you think that you still love me." The thoughts cross her mind and she is trying to move on by keeping him away. Possibly even no contact. I love this song :)

The couple just broke up the guy thinks he made a mistake. He wants to tell her that he wants her back. The girl thinks its way over, and she doesn't want to know if he regrets it or not so she won't go back to him. She knows it will end the same way if they go back to each other.
