I always thought of this song and lyrics as a metaphor for Satan and how he once was an angel and is now a demon to some. He broke away from the chains of God and freed himself and in a way, inspires others to not be afraid. I also see it as from a person who is coming to terms with how poisoned and full of lies Christianity is. Most people blinded by religion, suffer and use this one and only life struggling within themselves all for the afterlife that probably doesn't exist. They are missing the point of what life is meant to be. Trapped in paradise lost. The person in the song is finally becoming spiritually aware and thus becomes free from the lies and bullshit. That's just my thoughts/interpretation for this song. |
