| Gregory Porter – Hey Laura Lyrics | 10 years ago |

Whilst I can't help but love the song, I also can't help but think about it from Laura's point of view: imagine one of your best friends turning up late at night and behave like this towards you - maybe he is actually in the friend zone but doesn't know it? It's a cathartic experience telling someone you love them and selfish in the fact that you can "get over them" once you know their answer but she has nothing to gain except a horrible experience. I wonder what Laura thought of this. |

| Muse – Reapers Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
Clearly this is a song spoken from the point of view of an enemy of the west, be that an actual military personnel or a civilian who's caught up in conflict. The "Reapers" are a reference to the MQ-9 drones that are used by the military, but also could be a metaphor for the Grim Reaper (the being that comes to collect you when you die). "Hawks" are also helicopters used by some military. Radicalisation is a term used more and more recently surround the time of the song's release, especially in reference to young people moving from western societies to places of conflict in support of terrorism. |
