I love this song, he has a beautiful voice, it settles into a comfortable groove and then he delivers some killer lines: he's perfectly willing to believe that rivers flow uphill if she says so. It's a song about a man desperately, foolishly in love with someone who's just stringing him along.
Whilst I can't help but love the song, I also can't help but think about it from Laura's point of view: imagine one of your best friends turning up late at night and behave like this towards you - maybe he is actually in the friend zone but doesn't know it?
It's a cathartic experience telling someone you love them and selfish in the fact that you can "get over them" once you know their answer but she has nothing to gain except a horrible experience. I wonder what Laura thought of this.
