The Word Alive – Lighthouse Lyrics 9 years ago
I believe this song is about people not being able to hold themselves above water because of stresses in life, and other reasons (e.g. home troubles, school troubles, etc.), and this is reinforced by the music video, when the two actors go to the beach, and the woman disappears under a wave. She can't hold herself above the water (the term; 'hold her/himself above water', a euphemism for; not being able to keep yourself up from the troubles). The male (presumably her boyfriend), finds her under the water, and drags her over to the shore.
(We stand up tall, even in the dark. Never forget we are a Lighthouse burning.) This is the male being a 'lighthouse' for the female (aka. a beacon of hope), taking her to the hospital, and then she awakes, to find the male sitting next to her bed.

This is personally my favourite song from their new album, out of everything in the world.

I See Stars – Save the Cheerleader, Save the World Lyrics 9 years ago
[i]Some people think one thing[i], and some say another, both could be equally correct. I believe that this might be what, kyle3d has said, but it is also closely related to the Tv series, Heroes, which ended recently (but is resurfacing as a different title, Heroes Reborn). I suggest watching Heroes if you haven't already.

Bring Me the Horizon – Alligator Blood Lyrics 10 years ago
No one else has implied anything to do with divination... Tbh, i only found about this from, In Hearts Wake...

I believe this song is about 'Divination".

"Divination (from Latin divinare "to foresee, to be inspired by a god",[2] related to divinus, divine) is the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of an occultic, standardized process or ritual.[3] Used in various forms throughout history, diviners ascertain their interpretations of how a querent should proceed by reading signs, events, or omens, or through alleged contact with a supernatural agency.

Divination can be seen as a systematic method with which to organize what appear to be disjointed, random facets of existence such that they provide insight into a problem at hand. If a distinction is to be made between divination and fortune-telling, divination has a more formal or ritualistic element and often contains a more social character, usually in a religious context, as seen in traditional African medicine. Fortune-telling, on the other hand, is a more everyday practice for personal purposes. Particular divination methods vary by culture and religion.

Divination is dismissed by the scientific community and skeptics as being superstition. In the 2nd century, Lucian devoted a witty essay to the career of a charlatan, "Alexander the false prophet", trained by "one of those who advertise enchantments, miraculous incantations, charms for your love-affairs, visitations for your enemies, disclosures of buried treasure, and successions to estates",[4] even though most Romans believed in prophetic dreams and charms."

This idea is supported by the music video, where Oli is playing a sort of spin off of, Russian Roulette, Poker (and other gambling games), with divination card, with a masked individual, who we later find out to be OLI himself... Confusing? IKR. Some examples of Divination cards are, The Fool (in the music video), The Star, Wheel of Fortune (in the music video), The Thief (mentioned in the song), The Lovers (in the music video), The Hierophant (see here for more details, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hierophant ), and then there is even, Death (in the music video).

Hope you enjoyed my opinion of this amazing song!! XD

Memphis May Fire – Jezebel Lyrics 10 years ago
Well, this song is definitely about a girl, most probably named Jezebel, who wanted Matty, or one of the other band members, for their money and fame. She is one of those girls who would stop at nothing to get fame or money. As the other person above said, "band sluts lol".

The Amity Affliction – Youngbloods Lyrics 10 years ago
This song is about how people may be going through hard times, but it is telling them to keep moving forward. When this song was written, by the screamer, Joel was going through really tough times (like when he writes most his songs). He didn't want to feel how he did, so he spent the time contemplating what a way to get through it would be.

I particularly like the lyrics,
"Youngbloods, youngbloods, youngbloods run free forever
Forget the death that's ever fucking nearer
Light up the sky and scream fuck the reaper
This life is for the keeping
Youngbloods just keep on screaming,"
because it represents what most people would be going through, and the way to overcome that struggle.

Rise Against – Survivor Guilt Lyrics 10 years ago
I think this song is about how the American government tells all these brave young men who go to war, that they are serving their country, and that they should feel honor and valor for fighting under the American flag. The lyrics, "a folded flag, a purple heart, a family all but torn apart," represents when soldiers return from wars, with their last breathe. The lyrics, "fought your fight, bought your lies," represents what all American soldiers must feel after they have fought in the wars, believing that they had done right by the whole of their country, but they all but too late realize, they have been back stabbed by their country's government. The lyrics, "They send our daughters and our sons
To deserts under burning suns
A sacrificial slaughter to fill
The pockets of the weak
An artificial enemy
Are we so easily deceived?"
represents the battles the Americans are fighting in the Middle Eastern countries.
