Pulp – David's Last Summer Lyrics 10 years ago
I always took this song as it was David's last summer as he didn't live through to the next one. The verses are from David's perspective, as though he wrote them down as prose, reminiscing once autumn had set in. The song has such wonderful imagery that along with the instrumental, you can really envisage that it's summer.

David has such a lament for the cold of winter and it's perhaps symbolic that as soon as summer is over, his love interest has to leave. Perhaps she's off to university, or back to her home country. It's my interpretation, given the title and the final verse, that David completed suicide.
