The Birthday Massacre – Secret Lyrics 10 years ago
@[Rinette:7815] Spot-on I think. The depth of the meaning is given by the chorus lines "I could never speak anyway
What you wanted to hear
I couldn't convey
We were just sinking too fast to save
The two of us
Whispering hope away" which in simple terms means that them lovers didn't live up to their expectations between each other. Mutual distrust began to build but they couldn't realize until love was gone away. I know, I relate to it because that's what I'm going through right now. And it sucks.

Jerry Cantrell – Dickeye Lyrics 10 years ago
I feel this is a song about Layne. One man (Layne) wasting another man (Jerry). One hand (Jerry) washes the other hand (Layne). Especially true when you take into account the Unplugged thing when Layne messes the lyrics for "Sludge Factory" and then Jerry has to speak up for him trying to cool things down.

Also, us Chileans have the following phrase: "pico en el ojo" which is pretty much what "dickeye" means (Dick in the eye), whenever someone tries to take advantage on you (f.ex. Someone selling you a fake iPhone instead of the real thing). I think maybe Jerry felt that way regarding how AiC turned out to be at the end of the nineties.
