To me this song is about the limited perspective of our own self inflicted struggles, unaware that there is another path outside the door if we seek it. In other words, choosing a different or "higher" path instead of being a victim of a situation we chose in the first place. "Shooting yourself again for what," when all other possibilities of life is a decision away. |

Seems to me about social class being an instrument to measure material wealth (and therefore risk of loss), which is of value to the system and class but not to the natural person. Essentially without the materialism & social class, we are not categorized and have nothing to lose materially (because the focus is not on materialism). |

I think this is about being passionate and vocal about a topic that you feel is important in the grand scheme of things - to a group that doesn't share your values - only to not be heard (barely see my breath) and drowned out by petty views such as jealousy. You've 'spit out all of your air' on the topic and give up, tired, because you realize you are separate from them all. |

To me, it is about observing how you've grown - acquiring experience and wisdom that you were previously unaware of. At every moment in life you are "sending" yourself openly into life unknowing of what is beyond your current awareness or who you will become. Like wishing you could reach out your hand to your former self to guide you to where you're at now, your future self may be wishing the same. |

Vegans become aware of new perspectives and truths. I think this is about someone who hides or disregards their newfound vegan values and ideals in the face of an influencing/conforming crowd. "There's nothing I can do/say" - it is no longer because of ignorance; it is now a choice. |

To me, this seems to be about the growing ocean of experiences and perspectives undiscovered. It's about being aware that there is always more to life than what you currently see, and viewing each day with new eyes accepting the gifts that life brings. I think the ocean is a metaphor for what you can't see and experience, but you are aware of its existence and accepting of all possibilities. |

To me, this song is about enlightenment. Being limited by your own beliefs (a wall of belief). You realize that you don't really know anything, only inherited opinions. You question everything, and realize that you don't know what you don't know. Life becomes more of a treasure of things that you never considered. Looking back at all those who wait to cross and open their minds, and free themselves of cognitive dissonance. |
