Did someone consider, that the song is from the perspective of death? "Gone so far to find no hope ... there is no one here but me". The soldier knows he dies and he fought in an (unjust) war and may deserve his fate. He wonders about if he's saved by jesus, while in the end there is no one there but death (not concretely personified, but as an perspective to look on the soldier). |

| @[pwamp:7033] I think more, it's a anti-war song. They believe in jesus and know the war is wrong and think about telling the king (jesus) lies or being saved without. While god is desperate about the war as well (wearing black, gone so far to find no hope) | |

Notice the "told me about the blue blue sky" (to promise something optimistically which propably will not happen) and getting a lemon tree (sour fruits) contrast. The whole theme seems to be unrequited love and being totally alone without the person. At the point "I'll get another toy" it seems like there should be a turning point (i can live without you, can you live without me, now you're sitting on the lemon tree), but this does not happen, but the YOU told me about the blue sky, but I only see a lemon tree motive repeats itself. |

Ich sehe die Beschreibung einer Beziehung mit jemanden der Borderline hat. Die Steine sind die Schwierigkeiten im Alltag, mal groß und schwer zu verdauen, mal viele Sandkörner in denen man versinkt. Das lyrische Ich meint, dass es zu meistern ist (Steine auffangen), merkt aber dass es eine Aufgabe ist an der sie sich vielleicht übernommen haben. Es stellt den Sinn der Beziehung in Frage und ziehe in Betracht, dass sie nur noch aus Gewohnheit zusammen sind (Spur im Sand), da sie sowieso nicht auf einer Wellenlänge (Alphabeth das wir beide teilen) kommunizieren und es gar nicht weiß, wer die Person eigentlich wirklich ist (seh alles nur dich nicht). Da bricht irgendwann der Boden weg. Im Refrain zweifelt es dann massiv an der Beziehung. In der zweiten Strophe kommen die Steine wieder vor, diesmal sind sie das Essen, was schwer im Magen liegt, was zum Beispiel für ein Problemgespräch stehen könnte. Du bist kalt (Borderline) und ich betäubt (Coabhängig) ist das neue Spiel, als es jetzt voller Gefühle ist, die das Denken dominieren (Herz voll, mein Kopf leer), was vorher andersherum war. Das Lied endet mit dem Ausblick, dass man eben doch keine perfekte Beziehung erwarten muss, und das perfekte Glück sowieso nur ein Fiebertraum ist. Der letzte Refrain ist dann umgedreht, dass es vor allem nicht ohne die Person kann. Dabei bleibt unklar, ob es um Liebe geht (Happy End), oder um die emotionale Abhängigkeit. |
