@[Paneity:15151] Not quite, Paneity. I think he really meant "open your eyes" (since most girls close their eyes for the first time when they "do it") because he wants her to see the "big surprise" he's about to give her in her "paradise". |

@[Rick3540:15150] You're right..........it was Karla DaVito, who ended up taking Linda Ronstadt's place on Broadway in Pirates of Penzance and went on to marry actor Robbie Benson (I know because she was my wife's "understudy" in all the musicals in high school.......long ago and far away!!) :-) |

It says "They promise fancy cars and diamond rings All sorts of shiny things" NOTHING about not being distracted so you can't interpret it this way. I really think the "knees" line pertains to the fact that she has to submit to sexual favors on her knees in front of record producers to get what she wants. (NOT scrubbing floors or praying.......but I guess that's why it's left open to interpretation.) |

@[John:15148] Holmes I disagree with "benderover's" comments and agree with yours. I Do think this means that she has to submit to sexual favors on her knees in front of record producers to get what she wants. NOT scrubbing floors...........It's actually one of my all time favorite subliminal lines in music (along with about all of Meat Loaf's "Paradise By The Dashboard Lights" and Billy Joel's "Only the Good Die Young" lyrics) |
