The song, in its simplest terms, is about to lovers that are separated by a barrier. It doesn't matter what that barrier is: geography, time, worlds, human & computer, etc. It touches on the universal insight that we have all been apart from someone we love and the conversation the robot is having really describes what that longing feels like, perhaps that is why it is so compelling. For someone who has a long track record of long distance relationships, this song has a special place in my heart. |
