| I think the song is basically about enjoying where the relationship is right now, and not trying to define the relationship or figure out what it all means, or if you are in love and/or not. He is stating that he doesn't have anything on his mind and he doesn't want to think about it, he just wants to enjoy the now. It sounds like the songwriter's partner is asking him about where they are, and what is in his head, and he doesn't want to discuss, he just wants to sip pink lemonade and enjoy their time together. This is about letting things grow organically and to get out of your head. | |

The song is called blind, as in blind faith. He the author has now discovered something that has proven what he used to blindly believes to be true, to be not true. This could be anything, religion, a relationship, a friendship, someones motivation, my bet is this is a relationship. The other person knew it all along, this is key, as to the fact that they have been leading him on. Also there is a community feeling whether that is family, religion or group, he just found out that he doesn't belong. "If I pretended I was blind And struck it from my mind Would it still be there? What if I'd do anything to make it seem all right It's all right" He want's it to be true so badly that he'd do anything to make it true, and he is almost pleading with himself or the universe, would it be wrong if I decided I should stay? As in, would it be wrong to just pretend to be blind and just believe a lie. I resonate with this song strongly, I suggest reading the book, "wool". Also with my religious background (ex-mormon) I feel this strongly, like the kid who pines after a belief in Santa Claus. Very Holden Caulfield in that he just found out the whole world is phony. |
