To me this makes me think about maybe two stories coming together. one between two lovers and another maybe between a child and parent. It could work for any relationship where you're letting go. You've decided that you've got to move on, you've got to go and see if you can find a better fit, a better life if you can, but where you are, you have someone who you do love. So while you're together for the time you've got you love them. "put your hands inside of my pockets, keep them warm while we rest" It's really quite the heart-wrenching story. Trust and letting go of something you'll always love, and may love again. This kind of letting go, feels like you're letting a part of yourself die. "tell them this love hasn't changed me at all" I might have repeated myself, went on way too long, but hey. I love this song. |

| my little thought on this song is kind of like that from melodee. but I always thought that the lyric was saying "there's more to life than love and being together." which at first i thought was an empowered way of moving on past a fixated-not-working relationship... of any kind. To me it would mean just moving on, seeing the other things in life that you love, other than just that one person, like other people and things. It leaves off with a bit lacking resolution, so the way I'm left seeing it is this: you're in a relationship with someone, you love them but it's not working out, they leave and you just can't let them go because it was love and how could your heart be wrong? But after a while you've got to look around at the other things you love so that you can be a whole person and be open to love again. Maybe it will come back around with that person, but there is still more to life than just being with that one person. Don't know how much sense that makes, but yeah. Another interpretation! | |
