| Caught between the lion and the child, all she knows is that, for all man'sconvincing talk, he (i.e. humanity) has made mistakes up to this point. For me the song is about the dilemma between preserving nature as it is (listening to the lion) or to continue destroying nature for the human child who is crying and suffering. As a human herself she is caught in the middle. I think this song is about overpopulation. | |

This song could be interpreted in SO many ways. At its essence seems to be a struggle and a dialogue. The struggle is "frightening" but is also energising, being "like lightning". To me this song resonates as an internal dialogue in which the speaker is inspired and excited by, yet frightened of, some burning instinct. For me personally, with what has been going on in my life, I connect this song to an inspired contemplation in building support for Scottish Independence. It's a slow-burning build-up of quietly inspired excitement. I first listened to this song while driving at dusk on the outskirts of my hometown and the sky was vibrant swathes of pinks, lilacs and blues. Abstractly, an enticement to freedom. This is what I love about LG's album - their songs can be interpreted to fit so many different molds. |
