Hey Now Lyrics
Hey now, letters burning by my bed for you
Hey now, I can feel my instincts
Here for you, hey now
By my bed for you, hey now, hey now
You know it is frightening
You know it’s like lightning
Hey now, now
Hey now, letters burning by my bed for you
Hey now, leave it to the wayside
Like you do, for you
Imagination calling mirrors for you
Hey now, hey now
You know it is frightening
You know it’s like lightning
Hey now, now, hey now, now
Hey now, now, hey now, now
Hey now, I can feel my instincts
Here for you, hey now
By my bed for you, hey now, hey now
You know it’s like lightning
Hey now, now
Hey now, leave it to the wayside
Like you do, for you
Imagination calling mirrors for you
Hey now, hey now
You know it’s like lightning
Hey now, now, hey now, now
Hey now, now, hey now, now

I saw something by London Grammar, and they were saying that this isn't really a song, but a vibe. I totally get that.
The song is about someone on their own, in their room, at night, yearning for a lover. There's a great deal of passion and longing expressed here
This song could be interpreted in SO many ways.
At its essence seems to be a struggle and a dialogue. The struggle is "frightening" but is also energising, being "like lightning".
To me this song resonates as an internal dialogue in which the speaker is inspired and excited by, yet frightened of, some burning instinct. For me personally, with what has been going on in my life, I connect this song to an inspired contemplation in building support for Scottish Independence.
It's a slow-burning build-up of quietly inspired excitement. I first listened to this song while driving at dusk on the outskirts of my hometown and the sky was vibrant swathes of pinks, lilacs and blues. Abstractly, an enticement to freedom.
This is what I love about LG's album - their songs can be interpreted to fit so many different molds.

I'm having trouble figuring out a few of London Grammar's songs. Any of you figured this one out, already? I absolutely love their stuff...
The Bonobo remix of this song is sublime. Original is great too, of course. There's something about the mood of this song that I connect with. What MaddiLove said I feel applies to myself.
To me this song is about falling in love with someone or liking someone passionately and yearning for them but at the same time being afraid of the feelings.
