| Atomic Kitten – It's Ok Lyrics | 12 years ago |
She's in a relationship with someone that keeps reassuring her "it's ok" no matter what, "on the phone" "all night long". She needs his reassurance that "its ok", because she doesn't feel like it is. "I believed in you, I must have been a fool" However, although he kept telling her "have no fear" she had real reasons to do so. For some reason, she's lost him and he lied that "it's ok". It's not for her and she's hurt because of it. "you ain't keeping me up all night, no more," The worries about the relationship disturbed her sleep. He was always there for her to talk to her on the phone, but something was missing. She thought she was the one keeping him up by talking to him, when really it was the other way round. If everything was good, then she needn't stay up late figuring it out. "You're not here but it's ok" She's the one telling herself it's ok now, and she believes it more compared to her love. "Well, now you got to where you wanted like I knew you would, Cash, car, house," The "anything you want" the guy told to her before was right. He got everything he wanted, but that cost him the singer's love. Once he's found everything, he no longer needs her. He used her to feel good when he didn't have "anything", when he only had her. Now he's got his material goods, he thinks he's made his "dream" but it never included her. He was saying "it's ok" because he wasn't content with the relationship as well - it's only ok and not amazing. "You're not here but its ok. " The ending line shows some pain. She pretends to herself "it's ok", but she still wishes she was part of his "dream". But she isn't, and she has to deal with it. |

| Ryan Star – Last Train Home Lyrics | 12 years ago |
The singer has finally found his lost love again and she is emotional upon seeing him. "The tears coming down, Making lines on your face. One for each year, now That you've been away." Family problems split them apart ("Stay away from my daughter"), and the guy thought that she should "believe" in what they had. It seems that he didn't stay away, but she pushed him instead. "Your dad said, Stay away from my daughter. The sun was coming down when I said, Can't you just believe?" "And if you wait for me ... I'll be the last train home." I read this as that he's given her one more chance, but it's his "last" one. He lists all of the things he can do for her, he can be the "light" in the "darkness" and "be her voice". He's giving her the opportunity to choose him over the problems her father is causing and he can bring her back to a comfortable place. But it's leaving soon, and he won't be there forever to take her back. "We were only kids, We ran like water." I love these lines, but I find them difficult to interpret. So, they were young and in love and they had a constant stream of emotions flowing from them, or perhaps it's like tears. Eventually although a stream seems like it's flowing forever, one day it stops suddenly, from a pouring to a trickle. "I told your dad, I love your daughter. The sun was coming down when I said, Hallie just believe." He gathers the courage to tell the father that he "loves [his] daughter" no matter what, and he'll be her "last train home". If he can be brave to the father, who broke them up in the first place, then she should as well. He wants her to "believe" so that when he comes back, as the last train home, he can whisk her away. If she doesn't, he'll leave without her, going home alone. |

| Every Avenue – Tell Me I'm a Wreck Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I feel like it's an open goad towards an ex because their personalities were incompatible. 'I want space you want a diamond ring' explains that he wants to break it off, but she is oblivious and wants to marry him. He asks her to call him a 'wreck' when he thinks she is as well. 'I guess you never knew me at all' says the entire message. They didn't know each other at all. He is surprised she's angry at him for not 'complimenting' her and she at him for being surprised. They just didn't work together and he wants to (slightly aggressively) tell her that. |

| Mayday Parade – Girls Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I feel like this song is about a guy speaking to his love, who doesn't think that she's good enough for him and pushes him away because she doesn't think he'd "understand". She doesn't want to commit ("You say love, she says maybe") and he tries to be kind to her but "girls never listen." He wants to understand, and he does understand. "Can you keep this a secret? Tell me your lies and I will tell you of mine. Whisper sweetly, while you touch me gently, I'm out of my mind." He has come to terms with his "lies" and that he "out of [his] mind" and wants to explain that he "understands", because he's been there as well, and they are not all that different. |
