| Tom Petty – Don't Come Around Here No More Lyrics | 10 years ago |
| I believe that this song is about someone shunning someone from their life. To me it sounds like a relationship gone bad. There's just something about the constant replaying of "I've given up.. Stop!" throughout the song that makes me think the singer is really tormented with feelings that wont die but he's trying very hard to push this individual out of his life. And him saying "Whatever you're looking for" tells me that maybe the person doesn't even love him and is just using him. Or at least that's how he feels, because he obviously doesn't believe that it's love. He's tried and waited but he knows it's over and he wants to make that clear as much as it may hurt. It's a great song. Limited in lyrics but the emotions in the way those lyrics are said and the drive in them just makes it the perfect breakup song. | |

It seems pretty obvious. This song is about a failing relationship. The narrator clearly loves the girl in the song very much but has no idea how to keep her happy. He tries anything and everything to keep her happy to the point of feeding her addiction and flaws. He's obsessed with her to the point that he's actually pushing her away but doesn't realize it. He takes her growing rejection with anger and frustration. He starts to wonder if something is wrong with him or if the problem is her. By the end of the song he's started to drink his problems away but the reality is he's only made his frustrations flare while drunk and it erupts into a fight. She calls her dad and tells him what's happened. Her father shows up angry about the event and him and her boyfriend get into a fight over it. The last word before the final chorus is "Wondered what I did to you" but doesn't specify who's thinking it. That's perfect because it's clearly what's on both of their minds. The father is clearly concerned and is there to protect his daughter and the boyfriend is left confused on why things ended up the way they did despite his countless attempts to make things work out. The song is pointed at the girlfriend being the problem but the lyrics state that both are to blame for the failed relationship. There were problems on both sides.. it just... wasn't meant to be. |

| Paul McCartney – Queenie Eye Lyrics | 11 years ago |

I think this song is really Paul telling us what he's learned thoughout life. He's sharing with us a simple rule. That life doesn't come with a manual and no advice will do life justice. "There were rules you never told me Never came up with a plan All the stories that you sold me Didn't help me understand" He's not the same person he was back when he was a 17 year old kid. That kid is grown up and he's reflecting on how he's come face to face with life's decisions and just like a game it has rules and consequences. The outcome is up to you and as you get older the game gets harder. No one is coming to help you.. you have to do it on your own. And that's just what Paul has done. He pushes on. I think this song really shows us how Paul feels about life and he shows us his joys and fears. He doesn't know what's next but he's still playing the game until it's O. U. T. out. "Its long way, to the finish When you've never been before I was nervous, but I did it Now I'm going back for more" Paul says it all in his own way and still manages to make it a catchy tune. He's amazing and he always will be. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Crooked Teeth Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| This song is sanctuary for me. It hits right at home. I was in love with my friends with benefits and we really were good friends despite everything. But she never let me get any closer despite how much she knew I loved her. At day we were friends in front of everybody we knew at night we were lovers. But I wasn't satisfied with just that. She would sometimes go out and be gone for days and I grew jealous because I know she was out seeing other guys. I had to know if she loved me but was too afraid to jeopardize our friendship. I bought her flowers and picked her up from work when she was stranded. I asked her out and told her to give me one chance to show her how much I loved her. She seemed surprised by it but accepted. I was so happy because I was so much in love with her. The next day I heard from my friend that she had told him that she didn't know what to do because she didn't want to go out with me. I was crushed.. my heart shattered. She wouldn't even give me one date.. I text her a confession of how much a had really loved her and told her how I realized she could never return those feelings and ended it with a goodbye. It's been nearly 4 months now and I haven't seen her or made any contact. I hear from my friend she had 1 boyfriend since then that cheated on her. That's just love goes sometimes. | |
| Linkin Park – Somewhere I Belong Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I think most fans have found themselves in a spot where the band they once loved has gone in a direction opposite of what they liked about them in the first place. The new music Linkin Park has packaged to it's loyal fans seems to be instead directed towards trying to find new fans. We simply don't fit the record companies demographic anymore so they must try to appeal to the new generations. That's just how it is.. | |
