For me, this song is about a person that leaves his hometown and leaves everything behind and now is coming back and is nostalgic about the the one that got away, probably her first love, and all memories comes back. Also, nothing is the same as it was and she regrets how things changed and her decision to leave all that stuff and move on. I always loved this song for its sad touch. Is like when you come back to your house, where you had the best memories and happy moments and everything is changed. Life is not as you expected to be even if maybe you achieved all you thought would make you happy, and you feel lost adn brokenhearted. It's so realistic unfortunatly :( |

For me, this is about a long distance relationship, when they are very far from each other, "a world apart", but their love is strong enough for that to not matter. He experienced a lot of things, happiness, pain, fun, everything, but nothing feels like when he is with the loved one, is only there where he feels like home, which is the place where we feel the safest and most comfortable. "Oh ive got my car and my guitar A couple pills a couple scars... That I wont die on this destructive path of mine" This sounds to me like he is doing things that are not right for himself and he only wants to not die so he can go back to her arms, go back home. I love this song because it means very much to me, it's kind of my song. |

I love this song, made this account to write my interpretation cause it's kind of my song. I find it to be about standing by your man, and being stronger than he even think you can be, about fighting in a battle that is not yours for him. Is about doing everything for your man. I don't think she is talking about a real war, but about a war with himself and his daemons. It means that with her by his side, can't lose the war, that she won't let him go (die). Put it in writing...I also think is about marriage, something that doesn't mean much to her, only a paper. What really means something is their feelings. There, she also says "I'll battle till this bitter finale", which i think is related to the marriage vow, "together till death". "And I will stand beside you But who you dying for? B, I would have died too I'd have liked to" This is my favorite part. She is saying that she would die for him and for what he is fighting and is related to "At his side, and drunk on pride We wait for the blow", and it means that even if they lose the battle, they will lose it together, they would die together. For people, life is the most important thing, ang dying for soembody si a supreme sacrifice, but for her, dying for the person she loves is not a sacrifice at all, is soemthign she would like to. |
