Devo – Uglatto Lyrics | 2 months ago |
What does this song even mean? Is this just bullying or what? Making fun of someone for being ugly? I hope not. I really like this band... |
Lou Reed – Beginning of a Great Adventure Lyrics | 4 years ago |
@[rosalyre:34108] Hey! I saw your comment in another Lou Reed song. At first I thought you where being hostile towards him. Now I don't care. I think your comments are very valuable here because you take the time and really write about how you feel about the songs in depth. I hope you keep expressing yourself as you please in this site. I wish there were more users like you. And no, I don't think we much in common, I just love when someone is a valuable contributor. Have a good one! |
The Wombats – Let's Dance To Joy Division Lyrics | 4 years ago |
@[Chymes:34057] Wow what an hostile comment this dude posted. I remember this song when it came out. I didn't listen to it with such an asshole and elitist worldview. This songs reminds me of a friend that left the country and I miss him. He used to listen to Joy Division and introduced me to it and similar depression-themed bands. This song reminds me of the happy-go-lucky attitude I had around him. I just wanted to make him laugh. And it used to work! (He laughed at my expense, lol). I think he suffered from mild depression. His parents were divorced and he never spend that much time with his dad; he treasured their encounters. Most people in gloomy situations can benefit from friends that cheer them up from time to time. BTW my friend now lives abroad and is a very successful and independent individual. I'm very proud of him. :) |
Oliver Tree – Hurt Lyrics | 4 years ago |
This is the kind of song you shouldn't listen to if you have just had a fight with your long term boyfriend/girlfriend/partner... unless that person is really overbearing and/or you have just discovered has a narcissistic and toxic personality. If this is the case, too bad you didn't realize earlier but it's never too late to say .'sorry, I wish you the best but you got issues you'll have to deal on your own... I won't be that guy/girl, I'll bail, see yaa'. |
Foo Fighters – What If I Do? Lyrics | 5 years ago |
@[joeh:28224] my man... don't you think he was doing so to be funny? Gee, I hope you don't take every slur that seriously irl. Best hopes to you! |
Young Legionnaire – Killdozer Lyrics | 5 years ago |
I remember when this song came out. The bassist was the former bassist of the band Bloc Party, one that I am very fond of, even nowadays (even though now it is basically the band 'Kele' with Occasional Bloc Party guitars). Anyway, getting back to the song: It resonates as a anti-establishment song, it has a rebel vibe, I wonder if bassist Gordon Moakes was in the same page as the lyricist. I know the singer is the same guy from The Automatic, anyone has more insight into this? Some interview, anything that would help us know what the song is about? I liked Young Legionnaire a lot! |
Loretta Lynn – The Pill Lyrics | 5 years ago |
@[VortexOfLanguage:26895] I am a feminist, but you lost me at "typical man". Anyway, I appreciate that little bit you said about Loretta. I will research her music more. Getting back on the comment: that guy may be an older internet troll, I don't think he appreciates what women can do now. Older people always try to push their beliefs down younger people's throats... Typical old guy I would say. And, if he isn't a old guy at all, he may be a hardcore conservative. Or maybe he doesn't appreciates Loretta's music. I think the song is powerful, and I'm glad it came out 40 years ago. |

@[sokorny:26688] Isn't it, "to each their own"? |
Soda Stereo – Entre Canibales Lyrics | 7 years ago |
A song about living the pleasure of the moment, because when it ends, only pain and poison will remain. |
New Order – Hellbent Lyrics | 7 years ago |
An uplifting song... for those who just did not move! |
Arctic Monkeys – 2013 Lyrics | 7 years ago |
@[edalex:14220] I don't like these lyrics. I think he just "needed" a song to make reference to technology because everyone is critizicing social media and new TV technoogy these days. It was a necesary cliché so the Arctic Monkeys could be "on it" too :p I'm also a fan, so don't down vote me just because I'm saying this song may be vain in purpose, many bands do this, I'm only pointing that fact out... |
Black Sabbath – Loner Lyrics | 7 years ago |
@[Mastodonkey:14219] How do you know this fellow? |
Arctic Monkeys – Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts Lyrics | 7 years ago |
@[Matt8teen:14217] I don't want to be the person to say this but... from personal experience (and from various friends and family members too) I can tell you that: You will never really get over it. Your feelings towards it may change over time but you will most likely avoid similar women so it doesn't happen to you again. So basically, it will change the way you aproach relationships. Sad, isn't it? |
Lindemann – Praise Abort Lyrics | 8 years ago |
I found this song amusing, it reffers to so many men out there that feel stuck up in a marriage with children, one that they where led to by life... or a greedy wife... or the first serious girlfriend they had... or all of those at the same time. So many out there can feel related to this, but they won't tell of course, because "A man's got to do what a man's got to do", and bailing from this kind of unsought relationship it's taboo in middle class society. The charm in Lindemann's lyrics lie in the bare-naked way he sings about this sad, very sad situation. I praise Lindemann. |
Bloc Party – One Month Off Lyrics | 8 years ago |
@[shrimpmeaning328:7835] He's gay bro, also, you should avoid using a non genre-neutral language when talking about music... just saying. |
Silvio Rodríguez – El Mayor Lyrics | 8 years ago |
It's about the history of the human race... But also about a certain character I cannot quite determine... suggestions, anyone? Who would be "El Mayor"? Alguien me puede decir quien sería |

Rodriguez – Like Janis Lyrics | 9 years ago |
@[ChrisWilmott:3579] The Mother? Man that's a twisted conclusion: It is obviously about a woman he's trying to dissmis as vain. I hope your thoughs had nothing to do with your relationship with your own mother, I really do. |
Los Tres – Dejate Caer Lyrics | 9 years ago |
This song really needs more comments. A latin american classic. It's a little about death, submission, possibly suicide... Full of great imagery and metaphors, and yet very direct and visceral, like most rock classics. |
Black Sabbath – Children Of The Sea Lyrics | 9 years ago |
I think you should've ellaborated, I listened to this thinking about the old Sabbath lineup and Dio, and the opinion of people, and this song is great, so I thought it was about people comparing this sabbath with the "classic" black sabbath with ozzy osbourne |
Los Prisioneros – Tren Al Sur Lyrics | 9 years ago |

The Dodos – Walking Lyrics | 10 years ago |
It sounds like ambition, inspiration IDK, the things you feel deep inside you HAVE to do, because it's your calling in life. Like becoming a musician. This was the first that came to my mind when I first listened to this song. |
