Slint – Washer Lyrics 12 years ago
He definitely says "faith", my friend. In context, building a church on the strength of one's fear wouldn't make any sense.

The Velvet Underground – Beginning to See the Light Lyrics 12 years ago
Your analysis of the "black and blue" line makes sense in context. Thanks! I always listen to this song as irreverent humor, but given the abstract quality of his lyrics...I can see myself taking the disillusionment angle.

M83 – Raconte-Moi Une Histoire Lyrics 12 years ago
While I'm relieved you grasp the central message of the song, your views on drugs are beyond naive and oversimplified. I've seen too many lives destroyed due to either excessive use or misuse. In an attempt to avoid being a hypocrite(if that's even possible), I went through an experimental phase. No, I don't regret it...but I would NEVER endorse it. When mind-altering chemicals are involved, it TAKES knowledge to GAIN knowledge. Perception isn't some magical phenomenon that dawn's on you out of thin air...or thick, smoke-filled air in your case.

The Ladies – Non-Threatening Lyrics 12 years ago
This song is punk rock rolled up into a cute little ball of quirkiness and tongue-in-cheek brilliance.

The Tallest Man on Earth – You're Going Back Lyrics 12 years ago
What I appreciate most about this album(and artist, obviously) is Matsson's frequent struggle with duality. There's so much more passion to lyrics when all sides are represented.
