The lines, "I hear they hate me now, just like they hated you Maybe when I'm dead and gone I'm gonna get a statue too", I believe refer to Jesus who was hated by the general populace in his day just as so many rightwingers hated the Chicks when all this bush BS broke. I'm surprised they didn't latch onto this and say the Chicks think they're Christ or some BS like that what with their distorted manipulations of incidents. I'm curious if there's any reference to possible tampering of their plane on flights out of places like this by the lines, "As I'm getting out I laugh to myself 'Cause this is the only place Where as you're getting on the plane You see Buddy Holly's face" I know they had to be extremely fearful of what these rightwing nutjobs would do to them what with all the threats they got. I would have. Some of them are the same extremist gun rights advocates we see now. Can't wait to see them in Tampa FL in Aug. 2016!!! |

| @[forestchild23:4504] Wow, that is very ironic about Icarus and John's death in an airplane if that is what the verse refers to. His songs really go to my soul and often give me goosebumps and feelings of such emotional well-being and love of nature as well as touching so accurately on feelings in relationships. Wonderful singer/musician! | |
