Avenged Sevenfold – So Far Away Lyrics 10 years ago
i feel.. this band when they lost their drummer they looked as though they died along with him, it's sad that your best friend is no longer with you and sometimes leads to suicide and insanity at times, glad to see this band didn't do anything crazy and continue to live in his name.

Avenged Sevenfold – A Little Piece of Heaven Lyrics 10 years ago
a dysfunctional relationship gone.. totally out of proportion, but i feel after this man did his terrible sickening acts, the angry soul from hell did the same act back to himself and realizes what he did so after that, he finds himself in his acts and asks for second chance with his gf or whatever and from then on he finally gets his chance with his girlfriend and get married. However there still a dysfunctional pairing so they do some pretty crazy murdering and kill everyone at the wedding and also there dead both of em. and they live happily ever after.. kinda. this goes to show you that having this fear of a relationship ending takes a toll on a person and causes em to do some insane actions.

Switchfoot – Where I Belong Lyrics 10 years ago
..Speechless. Honestly, this song kinda sums up everything from a personal band achievement perspective. But in my personal opinion, I feel that the beautiful letdown the song was talking about the fact that this man was on a road to find a place where he belong and live to serve Christ with his cross on his back, saying that he doesn't belong in the world of so much murder chaos and twisted corruption. Later in the song Afterlife, talks about the fact that he died and went to where he needed which is heaven. Now where i belong, is a song of the man (which is jon foreman) coming together in the afterlife finding out that he found his place where he actually belonged which is heaven. Also back to the literal meaning i feel jon foreman and the band did all they could to end up to where they are now form Legend of Chin to Beautiful Letdown, then Nothing is Sound to Hello Hurricane, and Vice Verses to Fading West. Quite a Journey they've been on and now that they found the purpose which is to keep spreading music to peoples ears and spread the love of God through rock n roll which there succeeding in.

Avenged Sevenfold – Dear God Lyrics 11 years ago
To me personally this an afterward to Seize the Day because in the music video of Seize the Day the character portrayed in the mv left his spouse and went to rob a bank and got caught and arrested and while he was arrested, his spouse died in a car accident. So for me this song is like a dedication to her because the lyrics give it away "I'm missing you again" and " I left her when I found her and I wished I could stay" and also it makes sense the verse where he says " I gave in to selfish ways" (when he robbed the bank he gave in to selfish desires and didn't care about his child or spouse and went and robbed the bank) and also he says. "Something told me stay" (this proves that he wanted to stay with his spouse but he gave in to selfish desires) this is definite afterwards to seize the day and it makes sense since this song and album was after City of Evil so that's the meaning to this song. There is other meanings but this is the main reason.

Switchfoot – Sing It Out Lyrics 12 years ago
This song at first I thought this was a personification of passion of the Christ and that when I or heard the way it was sung I thought this was Jesus talking with God inside of himself saying that I'm ready to sing out to you and to be my remedy when I'm dead and that if I'm gonna die on this cross I'll let all I have inside me and sing it out to you. The most perfect verse which gave me the assumption was when he says "I'm holding on I'm holding on to You" (basically saying when he was on the cross he was holding on to Him so that Jesus can be resurrected to God. My world is wrong my world is lies come true and I fall in love with the ones that run me through (talking about he had a deep loving relationship with his disciples as the ones that follow him. "When all along all I need is you" (he's saying that all he needs is God in his life) my personal opinion of the song I'm really wrong but it was what I thought

Switchfoot – On Fire Lyrics 12 years ago
This is blunt obvious but I'm probably wrong but On Fire is definitely talking about modern Pentecostal belief of te personification of the fire of God. This is probably talking about when you are near to God he is so powerful and his presence is so warm and almost intense like fire which is why we are loathed when he is near is and we love it when were surrounded by that fire when were praying or anywhere that fiery presence reminds us God is there embracing us . This is my opinion of the song which I'm possibly wrong =/

Switchfoot – Enough To Let Me Go Lyrics 12 years ago
When I first heard this song it made me think of a boyfriend girlfriend break up and that's probably the real answer at first. I thought this song meant that this person was overly attached to him or her and didn't want to leave him or her and that him or her is saying that it's time for us to move on and leave each others life and if you truly love me then you must let me go and let me live freely.

Switchfoot – Free Lyrics 12 years ago
When I first heard this song I thought (now this was a interpretation I had and I thought was the real meaning of the song and now I know what the meaning is). But I thought that this meant someone was trapped within hell and that he was calling out to God praying on his knees that one day one of his angels will come and save him and that hell was a infinite prison of no escape and torture. This came from 2 verses of the song. 1 was: when I try to reach above (heaven) I only heard of the ones I love (could be referencing his loved ones that passed on to heaven and he's left alone in hell to rot) 2: there's a hole in the neighborhood where the shadows fall (could be the demons in earth dragging the sinful souls of those who are deceased into the hole (gateway to hell or entrance to it all) and the shadows(demons) are falling into with the souls of those who belong in hell. There's a hole in my but my hope ain't in me at all (is now suggesting that there's no way out of hell and that god cannot get him out). I had a dream that my chains where broken broken broken open (him dreaming that the chains the devil has him in will finally be broken by God and him finally going there to free him and take him to paradise). This assumption is really incorrect but this is what I thought it meant when I first heard it

Switchfoot – Rise Above It Lyrics 12 years ago
I really like this song for some reason it gives me the assumption this is the brother of The Original it has some of the same feeling as the original. I really like how he talks about the system and how nowadays it's corrupted and that we must rise above it all

Switchfoot – Afterlife Lyrics 12 years ago
This song afterlife by switchfoot in my opinion it's more of a Christian related song. Why? Well it mentions some of what nowadays Christians talk about. For example: "I've tasted fire I'm ready to come alive ill let it burn the way the sunlight burns my skin" this is talking about of what I assume the fire if God when you finally accept him you finally taste his fire and are ready to come alive. Another reason why is near the end he quotes "everyday I choose my fate" I think he's referring to when your ready and your purpose in this world is done you can ask God to set out your fate however you want. All in all I see this song as a Christian (Pentecostal) view point. In fading west I hope he talks about where his mind was about this song and the rest in vice verses. This is an opinion at the end of the day I'm not sure if Jon had this in mind I'm just giving an opinion..
