I have to say. This song helped me through a difficult year. It has a meaning to me that might not be anyone else's, but I'd just thought I'd share it. For me, this song is about someone who is afraid of falling for someone. Someone they know they're bound to fall in love with anyway, but they don't want to hurt them, or get hurt themselves. 'Don't get to close, it's dark inside.' It seems like this person has had a lot of heartbreak, and has been having a tough time in their life in general. But later in the song, it turns out they did fall for the person they didn't want to. They actually have a chance. They're so close to at least getting a date with the person. But then they blow it. They fear rejection anyway. "Don't wanna let you down, but I am hell bound." So then their love interest moves on, or so they think. Because the person they had fallen for is now with someone else. "They say it's what you make I say it's up to fate It's woven in my soul I need to let you go Your eyes, they shine so bright I want to save their light I can't escape this now Unless you show me how" Here is the part that means a lot to me. Basically, my meaning to this song is what happened to me a head ago. The 'love interest' I've been talking about, well he's been forced into relationships he doesn't really want. But I say it's truly up to fate, just like the song says. So that was what the song meant to me. It's only my opinion. |

To me this song seems to have multiple meanings. For one, it could be a love story. Partially because I've had something like this makes me think of happen to me. I think it could be about a guy who falls for this girl, or vise versa. But this guy won't give up on being with her anytime soon, hence: "I won't run away this time". That's basically all I think for the love theory. Someone who won't give up on love. The other meaning to me, could be about life going on and on. We are the way we are, and there's a reason for that. Life goes on, and we'll each be our own individuals, and no matter what, nothing is going to stop that. Or maybe you're afraid of something happening. For example, someone who's afraid of death. There's nothing anyone can do to prevent it; life goes on. Or 'Round and Round'. |

This song actually reminds me a lot of something that just happened to me. "She barely knew your name He was just a city, she's just a dirt road But that never meant a thing Running from the country, she needed out but He held that diamond ring" Personally, I think this part could be about a girl who falls for a guy, but feels she isn't good enough for him, or that it will never work. The two would be from totally different lifestyles and all. 'She barely knew your name' could very possibly signify that these 2 have just met; love at first sight. As when I met the person this song reminds me of, that was the case. 'Cause I can't sit oh I cant talk I gotta leave this town and run to you Curse these nights that speak your name I gotta leave this town and come to you Break (oh) this (oh) curse (oh) Ha ha ha Break (oh) this (oh) curse (oh) She barely knew your name' To me, this part is either of the two saying; Why is this happening to me? Why do I love this person I barely know? This will only lead to drama, and to heart break. 'He was such a worry No need to hurry Those streets are slick at night She would never listen She left it all and headed towards the light Oh your eyes look tired But love was all she knew Screaming out in agony she gave her life for you' This part speaks to me most. At this point, it seems its the girl who fell for the boy, much like my situation. So now, it seems this boy has gotten to know the girl, and the two are at least friends. But this boy doesn't realize how much the girl loves him. How she would do anything; even die for him So that was basically my opinion on this song. Sorry if you don't agree, since I am speaking from personal experience. XD |
