This song seems to be about discrimination. To me is sounds like discrimination against foreigners This song is filled with metaphors. "It's only water in a stranger's tear" This suggests that any strangers feelings are unimportant as any tears they cry are only water so they don't matter "Looks are deceptive but distinctions are clear" This seems to suggest they don't judge people by how they look but they distinctively know who they can judge. Possibly they distinctively know that he is not one of them and so it is clear they can judge him/her because of his/her nationality. "A foreign body and a foreign mind never welcome in the land of the blind" This suggests that any stranger is not welcome where there are people who can't see that there is no difference between them and strangers. "There's safety in numbers when you learn to divide" Meaning they go around in a group but to do this they have to divide themselves from everybody else. "How can we be in when there is no outside" Suggesting that they are in their own 'territory' but when there is no outside it means they are completely blind to everyone else. "All shades of opinion feed and open mind but you're values are twisted let us help you unwind" Suggesting that they claim to be open minded but they 'know' that these people are twisted. The bridge seems to suggest that is isn't racial as it points out they look the same. |

| In this song when it is played loudly it's Peter's panic in seeing his fear but when the music goes quieter it's his reason in facing his fears. Brilliant song. | |

| I think the song is about someone who has been in love with someone but the got rid of him. However he still wants her love so the door that is sealed is a metaphor for what's blocking him from getting her love and he's trying to get it back but knows he can't succeed. | |
