the song is about a death of a friend from downing. he is reminiscing about all the fun things they did together. the memories, while great, still bring him to tears. and he wishes he could handle the sad, yet very hard, situation better than the friend's dad did. |

in general, the song is about a dude and girl. the dude knowingly treats his girl poorly, but the girl never leaves the dude, for whatever reason. she threatens to leave him, though, but never does. |

in general, i think the song is about two rambunctious friends always getting into trouble. one of the dudes is a bad influence on other, and through peer pressure, forces him to do things he knows isn't right. unfortunately, one of the dudes is caught and is punished, most likely by a parent. the dude who didn't get punished knows it was semi his fault for pressuring his friend into doing "bad" things and wishes they could still hang out together.
i get the sense the last part of the song is mother scolding his son's friend for being a bad influence. |

i general, i see the song about a freeloading, yet outgoing adult, who still lives at home with his mom. the son-mother relationship isn't the strongest. he has sacrificed a lot - such as still living at home with his mom - to hopefully become famous one day. |

the song is about a dude who failed at a relationship. he goes out to his car - possibly because the significant other kicked him out of the house - and gets high to forget his feelings.
also, i get the sense the dude is also spying on the significant other, possibly watching her with a new boyfriend.
and he will do whatever it takes to win her back, as evident by "i got miles to go..." stanza. |
