| Oingo Boingo – Whole Day Off Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
Have you seen my garden? It is most peculiar Nothing there that grows looks anything at all like plants I hear their voices, let's take the whole day off. Mushrooms? Danny is amazing at messing with people's minds and slipping hidden meanings into songs, and distracting listeners from the real meaning with confusing lyrics. |

| Y'all are overanalyzing it. It's about taking the whole day off to go on a hallucinogenic trip. | |
| Oingo Boingo – I Am The Walrus Lyrics | 12 years ago |

The original Beatles song, and the circumstances surrounding its writing, can be summed up in one line: "Don't you think the Joker laughs at you?" Think about it. If that makes any sense to you on an intutive level, and you also understand Oingo Boingo on an intutive level, then it makes perfect sense for them to do a cover of it. (Hint: Joker = Walrus) |

| Oingo Boingo – Little Girls Lyrics | 12 years ago |

First off, I don't think Danny is a pedophile, but he sure does know how to get inside the mind of one. Actually, he has a talent for getting inside the minds off all kinds of socially deviant characters, because in his own way, he is one. And because he's a social deviant of a different kind, he can get away with writing a song on a topic most writers would consider taboo. And if the story is true, (I haven't looked into its validity), he can get away with freaking out Girl Scouts. Songs can have several different intended meanings (as in what the writer had in mind), and even more unintended meanings to listeners. I wonder if the explanation that Danny gave is only one of several messages he had in mind. Speculating that he may have actually written it about pedophiles seems reasonable enough. But then, there are lots of psychological similarities between what goes on in Hollywood that Danny was talking about and men who are actually attracted to underage girls. |
