Mount Marilyn was the name of a mountain on the moon, which has now been named Montes Secchi, which is located just inside the "shoreline" of the Sea of Tranquility.
Reading this, I get the sense that he is past the grief and anger stage of the loss of his relationship. He is reminiscing again, but this time he feels apathy rather than bitter loss as before. |

Further down the theme of love and betrayal... This further makes me think that his lost love was con artist, or an extremely manipulative sociopath. "everything they do and say might even fool a clever mind" sounds exactly like gas lighting.

Another song about lost love and betrayal. Here he is musing how good it felt to be with this person... before the mind rape had begun... Mind rape sounds like extreme manipulation. Perhaps this person turned out to be a sociopath and gas lit him before he discovered the truth. |

Teonanacatl is the Aztec name for the magic mushroom known as Psilocybe. The shape of the top is reminiscent of a medieval soldier's helmet. "If you begin to fall (trip) please have some more (magic mushrooms) you can stay at my place because its probably too late to drive home in your condition. Loss of a love from lies and betrayal. Words upon a spiraling cross sounds like he was duped into a con, maybe being used? And he was mislead and its all a bitter loss.
Inject us out of here sounds like either a need to escape through some type of needle drug such as morphine or heroin, to escape the pain of loss. Or even possibly, lethal injection because to get out of here my refer to life its self. |

Sounds like suicide via a running car in the garage. He was in love with someone, he followed their vision of what they wanted (I dreamed your dream). But then they dumped him in the end, saying lets just be friends. So he breaths in the fumes of carbon monoxide with glory and pride, confesses himself about to die. The air he breathes has stopped, and his death is the deepest peace of mind.
A deeper kind of slumber is another word for death. Seems like there are a lot of songs about love and betrayal and the desire to end ones life in this album. |

In Native American shamanic culture, there is a practice of leading people through a guided meditation that involves a light trance like state where you create a virtual world within your subconcious. The purpose of this is to get away from all the normal stresses one deals with to be able to find peace of mind, or "serenity" if you will ;). This way, people can then think more clearly about their situation and problem solve more effectively without being constantly stressed out. Most people now in days just smoke to calm down :P
Anyways, sounds like this song is someone who is very familiar with this meditation, and is guiding someone new through it for the first time. |

Thoughts from someone who heart has been badly broken and now has a very cynical view of love. He uses the analogy of his heart being surgically replaced with a metal one: hardening his heart to never trust anyone on that level again with the belief that true love doesn't really exist (only varying degrees of lust).

Therianthropy is someone who has a spiritual and/or mental identification with an animal. Most commonly, but not exclusively, wolves. And some wolf therians describe it as being a "spiritual werewolf", where their mind shifts suddenly to having more primal instincts and urges akin to a wolf.("Wolf's shadow follows me, strange thoughts reflecting in me.")
Dream shifting, and astral shifting are among others common to this community, and it is also interesting that this is mentioned in the lyrics as well.
A common theme in therianthropy is the duality of our minds, wolf mind and human mind (for the wolves). Sounds like one of these guys in the band is a theriantrope, or at least has done extensive research on the community. |
