This song is about a person who is depressed because his acquaintanceship with someone probably a girl which he fancies a lot secretly.He was hoping their acquaintanceship could grow into a loving & more stable relationship but his request was not accepted,so he swept into an overall "LOW" condition.Now he's(conscience) talking to himself & try to reason with himself about his low mood. You see the world in black & white No colour or life You think you'll never get it right But you are wrong,you might The girl has left him taking away all the colours & has turned him lifeless.He is saying he might not understand why it has happened to him but inside he knows it well but could not accept the reality but in the end he must accept the truth. This song is sung for a person who is sad,depressed & mentally disturbed.So, anyone who will approach such a person & try to make'em better will be taken wrong because this person might misconstrue the intentions of the person trying to help. People in this kind of state often becomes very hard & stubborn.They don't seem to get on well with people esp the loved ones or the one who cares about them.They often misjudge their intentions.Explained in lyrics"Your heavy heart(full of grief & sorrow might be taken up from environment or was deep roooted from inside.) is made of stone. The situation gets worsened when both parties find it difficult to approach to the solution due to the lack of understanding & communication between them.Offcourse,no one can experience & feel what the other person might be feeling or going through.In this situation its often hard to understand others.This is explained in lyrics as "& its so hard to see you". The person is very offended by some statement uttered by the speaker who is trying to help but misreads it & find it offensive so she ran away in seclusion for peace.But the speaker says that "you don't have to be alone".He tries to tell her & explain to her that his message was of love.he loves her so much & he doesn't want to see her in pain & what ever he said to her was for her own good.He wants her to get better & come out of her depression & that he is merely trying to help her & he is not feeling guilty if what he has just said.This is evident in lyrics "& em not gonna take it back.& em not gonna say I don't mean that(offcourse the message is a very positive one).You're the target em aiming at(means the message was for your betterment).The speaker also feels the pain her beloved might be in & he doesn't want her to stay in it.As,lyrics says,"Em on fire for you". I n the end,he is requesting her to come home with him.He is saying he feels incomplete without her.He needs her to get on in life & he needs her as badly as she needs him by her side not what it appears to be that she is trying to ran away from him because the opposite is true. |
