City and Colour – Sometimes (I Wish) Lyrics 12 years ago
I'm deeply in love with this song. The entire first verse gives me chills each and every time I hear it. For me, by asking the questions he does in this song, he's outlining the ideal relationship. Someone who would love him if he was simple, blind, poor, and when they grew old, or the relationship grew old, would she stay with him to the end. This is such a beautiful song, and has such a personal meaning for me. Dallas' lyrics are always good but this song inpartucular is one of my altime favorites.

City and Colour – Save Your Scissors Lyrics 12 years ago
I totally disagree that this is about cutting or suicide. I think he is saying that he was in some sort of relationship with a girl, and she was trying to change and alter him, hence the "scissors". I think he's saying, "save your scissors for someone else's skin", as in I'm not going to become the cookie cutter person you want me to be, so you're wasting time, so go find someone else to configure. I love this song.

City and Colour – In the Water I Am Beautiful Lyrics 12 years ago
I think it's about having a three month relationship. To her, three months is "eternity", long enough to be fully in love. She's more than ready to say "I love you". He wants to say "I love you", but he doesn't want to say it without meaning it wholeheartedly. But he fears by the time he can say it and mean it entirely, she will have moved on, thinking he really didn't care. But really he wanted to say it, but he wanted to be fully and deeply in love before he told her.

City and Colour – Day Old Hate Lyrics 12 years ago
Obviously lyric meanings are vaslty different to everyone who listens to a song, but to me two lines in this song stand out: "Now you still speak of day old hate, though your whole world has gone up into flames". To me it seems like he's saying that this person is focusing so much on how people have wronged them in the past, that they can't see whats happening in their life now. They're looking back on the "hate" that have for people in their past that have done them wrong, and aren't focusing on their current situation. I think it's important for us to remember to let go and move on.

Sleeping with Sirens – Tally It Up, Settle the Score Lyrics 12 years ago
Lyric correction:
"Remember the last time we tried from the start,
You took things I needed now sound the alarm,
Take me back,
Start this again"

Jesse, the guitar player wrote this part of the song, and in one interview he and Kellin said it together.
