| Five Finger Death Punch – No One Gets Left Behind Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
There are lots of songs in the world that speak about troops, war and honour. So I was going to comment about it. But than...I just think the lyrics of this song are one of the best I've ever read. I just wanted to add that all the songs (starting from the title of the album) on "war is the answer" must be read in a political way. I say this cause I've read in other songs things like "he left his love" or "it's about governing an elementary school". |

| Five Finger Death Punch – Hard To See Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
This song's kinda hard to explain for me, maybe thats cause the lines are few, and it keeps repeating the same stances. But I think it's about a relationship of some kind (love-friendship-politics) where one tries to be different than the other, and this choice is so clear that he cant even explain why their point of views are so different. So he says "i cant see your point of view, its so hard for me to accept it". |

| Five Finger Death Punch – Dying Breed Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
The song can easly be releated to the government and the fact that they are watching the world fall apart without moving a finger, and they keep talking but wont keep their promises, But the "dying breed" stance makes me think this song's is more likely about the people that keep being one identical to the other, refusing to revolt, to make a riot, all governed by technologies and not having their own ideas. So the man in the song refuses to be like them, like the rest of the world, and explains why he is different and so will be till death arrives, even if this difference will cost him life. |

| Neurosis – From The Hill Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I think this song is about the cult of nature, referred to as "her", and the wolf may be some kind of symbol to indicate her spirit like one of you said. The line "touch animal blood" may than be a metaphor to say "I embrace the true essence of nature". The last line is about the sun never fading, and the immortal essence of the nature. It's like a pagan view of the nature as our true god. |

| Neurosis – The Tide Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| That seems this song is about a particular type of death. Some of you said the it's about the suicidals, but I think it's about people killed in war, kille by the government, killed by some kind of injustice, forming a big tide with all their voices and their spirits, finally free, all in the same place. | |
| Linkin Park – A Place For My Head Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
Bad things about bands like Linkin Park is that their fans tend to interpret every single song as a "love" one. But this one, for example, has a deeper meaning. It's about a man becoming sick of a greedy relationship that can be related to his parents, his mhyts, his girlfriend or every other possible identity that was important for his life, but has now become clearly oppressive. But it still says "I'm sick of it all, I don't want to live your way, ho find another one, I just want to rest". |
|
| Linkin Park – Victimized Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| For me this song's meaning is quite clear: our government always acts as he is the true victim in this world, but instead he just wants us to revolt and destroy ourselves to rule better. So they should really be put among the true victims to see what it's like. | |
| Linkin Park – Castle Of Glass Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I think this song is related to a man that can be any of us, meaning that the world is a castle that can be shredded in any second and we feel like we have it on our shoulders. But every single one of us is just a crack in it. And all the cracks are gonna destroy the castle. We need to be washed and purified cause we, as humans, are not perfect with our own weakness and sins, but we are just a scratch in a bigger picture. |

| Linkin Park – Burn It Down Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
This song is not about planet Earth or things like these, it's just about a failed relationship described, as LP arleady did in some of their songs, as a concrete world falling down. The lyrics are full of "I", "You", and then, in the chorus, "We". That's self explanatory. The use words like "sky" and such metaphors in lots of their love songs. And you can see this if you have the original "Living Things" album: a volcano exploding is the image used to describe the lyrics of this song. |

| Tool – Right in Two Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
You guys said everything about the meaning of a song that is, in my opinion, one of the most simple yet hard to understand. But I think lots of you are incorrect about the true meaning of the line "right in two". You said that its just a metaphor to explain how people fight to divide everything they don't want to share, but I think it's incorrect, cause it says multiple times "divide it RIGHT in two". So I guess it's important to understand why there must be TWO precise parts, and Tool are always intrested in the deep meanings of numbers. My interpretation (and I've had it since the first listening of this masterpiece) is that the angels came to the conclusion that Heaven and Earth must be divided and separated, so the unity of the world as we know it must be divided RIGHT in those two parts. The divine things must be set apart from the terrestrial things, just not to do the same error again, cause people cannot use wisely the divine powers, like it happened with the free will gift. That'd easly explain the "RIGHT in TWO" concept, and also the fact that it says "cut IT ALL right in two" and not just "we must cut EVERYTHING right in two", and also "where there's ONE you have to divide it right in two". Also, do not forget that we are reading the song from the angel's point of view "wondering when this tug of war will end": mankind constantly fighting to reach the divine power and killing everyone to rule over the world, like God is doing. That's why the world must be divided: Adam and Eve started with this sin long time ago. For me, that's the perfect interpretation of the song, hope to have opened some of your third eyes ^^ |

| Agalloch – I Am The Wooden Doors Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
The meaning of the song is quite easy to understand in multiple ways: even when your humanity is fading away, there's a place deep inside you that will protects your wills, your integrity, and help you make it through every difficult moment. I just wanted to add that the "wooden doors" are calling again a natural element, the wood, and the whole album rotates around this concept, like it's said in "In The Shadow of Our Pale Companion". Thus, the song reconnets with the opening tracks in multiple ways: the man wants to die with honour and pride preserved. |

| Agalloch – In The Shadow Of Our Pale Companion Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
I think this song's about a misanthropic man who realizes that the pale companion (the death) is always walking beside us and God doesn't move a finger to help us, leaving mankind as a useless puppet without a concrete aim or something to believe in. Than he struggles to understand if a God really exists, or if he has just fallen down from his empire, realizing that only the nature himself can be a concrete divinity, something that can be seen and touched. The last line ("heathen pride scarred across the land") is, for me, the key to understand the song: the man realizes that he has only empty thoughts and illusions, that mankind is destined to walk hand by hand with death, abandoned by a God that may not exist, so he decides to put an end to his life in its own way, with his own beliefs, before the pale companion can come and take his soul during a miserable life. Someone of you said that, during an interview, it was revelaed that the album is about the end of the human race. That's a good way to start the concept. |

| Tool – Disposition Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| I think it's just about time and how we feel it, flowing away when we don't even have time to decide our ways, our aims, our goals, feeling we are useless and doing nothing for our future. So we ask time to mean something, anything, changin our hobbies, our passions and sometimes our dreams just to achieve something better, something that can meang a fucking thing to us. And than seasons are passing by... | |
