From The Hill Lyrics

From the hill, I'll be watching, stealing the light
In my dreams I touch animal blood rich earth
Swallow it down into my soul

From the hill, I'll be watching, stealing the light
It feeds her and raises my true nature
When I awake, I am old
All the gods are screaming

My feet of clay lead me on through the void and far beyond
To demonstate my will and path, to embrace the wolf in her glory

All hail her and wash this time in blood
The horizon will burn, rise in fire and return to us

I think this song is about the cult of nature, referred to as "her", and the wolf may be some kind of symbol to indicate her spirit like one of you said. The line "touch animal blood" may than be a metaphor to say "I embrace the true essence of nature". The last line is about the sun never fading, and the immortal essence of the nature. It's like a pagan view of the nature as our true god.

Ok. I do not know wolf symbolizes here. Maybe it is the spirit of nature. And he always repeats "her". What does he mean ?

motherearh?

"her" is the wolf, i believe. the lyrics do seem to represent the invocation of animal spirit.

I think it means that to achieve what the band has achieved they had to explore deep, dark aspects of their mind, i think this song simbolizes that very journey.
