| Now I think about it again, the song could be about shame, and sadness caused by something the person had done. Something that infects them with guilt, that they could never admit to anyone, except when by themselves somewhere far away. Only the wind could remember | |

I agree with -ReNeGaDe-NiNjA-. I think it's all about Iowa, and it's sort of comparing it to hell. The song constantly made me think of hell.. I don't believe it exists, but it sounds like that's what it's describing it as. Or at least a horrible, unthinkable place after death. I would definitely say the sounds in this song are like an audio description of the physical location, and it obviously isn't a positive one. "You will live forever" seems like it's saying you will live forever, in this place of torture and horror. |

I would say that this is sort of describing the feeling of helplessness, and uselessness. The feeling that you cannot ever do anything right, and that everything you touch dies. Hence: "Reach outwards to feel the leaves, But they shrivel before I touch them..." I can't be sure. It's a beautiful song though, and it's all about how you interpret it for yourself. |
