I think it is about his hate for the devil, wich is a part of all of us. And we are born, in the end, to destroy this dark side of our personality. Ok, replying on my on interpretation.. It is like a discussion with yourself, how nice :) I couldn't stop thinking about the meaning of this song and now I am sure that (in my opinion) it is about spiritual growth. Once you know your true purpose here on earth, wich is; to LOVE.. it is very difficult to decide what to do with it. We live in a world full of (pretend) fear, fueled hatred etc. and when you participate in this world, it makes you an accessary. This is a very difficult feeling, because most of your loved ones do not see this world the same way. They also know that there is something wrong, but they are not really sure what it is. Besides, to aknowledge it, means that you most probably have to leave them in some way or another. And why? Read the lyrics of Wake as gun; this could be a real eye-opener to some people. Think about it. It is all about love. Stop being greedy, start listening to your heart! |

I think he is talking about having certain knowledge about the way things work around here. When receiving this information there is two things you can do, kneel and disconneect (from the feeling that you should do something with it) and carry on with your live. Once you do this, you will start a new carreer, but I am not really sure if you should be happy with it. On the other hand, it could mean he finally sees the thruth, he kneels to this new knowledge and distances himself from it and decides tot apply for a new job, a new carreer, in wich he can talk about his knowledge. I think you can broaden the meaning of the song to the whole world. We all have the option to sell out to 'the devil', every minute of every day of every year, and most of us do. And the people that don't, they have to rage their little wars, being a shade, easy to ignore. Ridiculed by the media, not understood by friends & loved ones. And then there is the internal struggle, wich is even worse.. Because once you see the true meaning of life, you can't go back to your old ways. By the way, I am not saying we should believe in a god.. We should believe in love.. Believe in ourselves! |

In my opinion this song is about reincarnation and the fact that most of the people on this world are to egoistic to think about the part they play in this world. They just consume and live their little slave lifes wile empowering governments & big bussiness to steal / ly / cheat / destruct and rage war... The last sentence is the best, because most of the people don't even know that they are doing this shit, they just live their lives. Most of them do feel that there is something wrong, but they don't know what it is and don't care (or dare) to investigate the real cause. So the message is; don't let this world get ruined by a few deranged people; investigate the power structures and remember that you are not alone. Don't believe the lies about crazy moslims or christians, they are mothers / fathers / sons (etc. you get the point) just like you, Trapped in a land shaped by big bussiness and their governments. To put it in 2 words; ONE LOVE! Beautifull song btw :) |
