| Tom Petty – You Don't Know How It Feels [Album Version] Lyrics | 13 years ago |

to me this embodies being a teenager. adults never really understand what it's like to grow up in this day and age, whether it's the 70s, the 80s, the 90s, or the 2000s. Kids always want to have a good time without being judged by their elders. "let's get to the point, let's roll another joint" is the epitome of a summer night spent smoking weed and fooling around. The location doesn't matter, which is why Tom Petty sings "let's head on down the road to somewhere". I love the line "I woke up in between a memory and a dream." I think this feeling signifies the moment when a teenager realizes that "this is is, this is real life and I'm living it." They feel like they are stuck in between their childhood memories and their dreams of the future. It's a confusing time in any person's life. |

| Bahamas – Sunshine Blues Lyrics | 13 years ago |

Literally speaking, this song is about the sun being in love with the moon, a love that can never actually happen. The first line sets up this premise: the "sunset" (he) sings the sweetest tune for his love the "moon" (the girl). "Going up as your coming down," is another line that shows how the sun sets as the moon rises and therefore their love can't be fulfilled. The sun is "jealous of the wolves when they howl out [the moon's] name". He sends his love bouncing through the stars in the hopes that someday the moon will realize how much he loves her... I think it's beautiful. Metaphorically, I think it represents a boy who has loved a girl out of his reach for a long time. Maybe they are separated by class, family or by distance but for some reason they can;t be together. Or maybe the girl just can't see how much the boy loves her. Either way I think it's an amazing song. |

| Bahamas – Already Yours Lyrics | 13 years ago |

I can relate this song to my personal experience. I think it is about a boy who has loved a girl for a very long time. Maybe they grew up together, but now they live far away from each other and talk to each other about their new lives. It's "so much sweeter on the other end of that receiver" because it seems like the girl has moved on, but the boy still misses her. In the second voice he tells her that she should have her fun where she is, because no matter what he will always love her. This is why he repeats "I'm already yours". I think the third verse is about letting go of an old love. The boy knows that no matter what, a little part of the girl will always love him, but it is better for both of them the let it go. He has been there for her for too long without anything happening between them, and finally realizes that he was never hers to begin with, thus "I was never yours." This is how I see it anyways. |

| Harper Simon – Wishes and Stars Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| I think this song is about how everyone thinks that their problems are worse than everyone else's. In reality though, every has their own wishes and dreams, but their aren't enough "stars" to go around. Harper Simon sings about how everyone else has so many friends, "more than they can use", and they all "just have fun". In the end he accepts that his life is good on the scale of things, and he is willing to accept that everyone has their problems, and wishes can't be granted to everyone. He has to just accept what he is given. | |
