| Modest Mouse – Dark Center of the Universe Lyrics

I think it's the hyprocritical aspect of seeing two sides of the fence, one that believes in god and is religious as opposed to being an atheist. I think the hightened emotion in the song is expressing how such differences are relatively irrelevant as to the way the world actually is. Rather, people will not like the fact you don't believe in god or aren't accustomed to they're beliefs. To me, the song is saying just because I am not like you and what not, it doesn't mean I'm such a bad human being. To me, it's expressing how you don't need god to be in this world, despite all the darkness and shit that goes on at times, it's not all bad. It's one of those things... like you don't need god to see the good in bad in your life. |

Right on, to me this song is expressing authority in relationship to subordinates, and how the struggle is one's position over the other. To me this more of a protest how the little man is able to see through his superior. |

| Stone Temple Pilots – Sex Type Thing Lyrics

This is when sexual tension peaks between two people. haha, can you guys not sense that? it is not about rape in my opinion... it's about two people who really want to (have sex)... literally all about sex, the guy want's to nail her, he is pursuing her... obviously the guy is expressing how good he is in the sac and what we wants to do to a girl. |

No comments? Well, that ends now :) I think this song is about being stuck in patterns of repetition, gaining clarity and taking action upon your feelings. 10,000 horses to me is a metaphor for how one feels, when they aren't doing anything about buried and repressed feelings. But, interpretations and meanings for me on songs change. |

First off the song is a pleasurable listening experience. Second, how I relate, to the song. To me the song is near perfect example of how into a crush you can be while knowing that it isn't likely to ever work out despite your delusions, lust for this girl and desire... You'll never give her, lips like sugar. It is quite the defining lusting after a woman you have a burning desire to get but quite frankly probably won't happen. |

| Incubus – Have You Ever Lyrics

The person is in defense of another, or a group... e.t.c. whatever It's about how "you think you can easily define me" but you haven't stepped in my shoes, you haven't experienced the shit I have. To me it's like lashing out at people who seem to not understand that you have seen some shit. It's about you and someone else getting to know the real you... and the reassurance, that you haven't experienced what I have and if we are to relate... this song is about that. It is a stance against opposition |

| The Velvet Underground – Candy Says Lyrics
| 9 years ago

|
This song expresses so much about what happens in one's life. The topic is candy, to me Candy in this song is a reference marker, or even a mirror of one's self as if you (yourself) were commenting on your own life as if another person was observing. It's quite deep and comes internally (from one's inner self) Life requires so much movement and use of our physical body, in this case Candy has been depleted and is breaking down. What others discreetly talk about line (to me) It's about something new or perhaps some form of escape, Candy is wanting to know what else is out there. The blue birds reference is obviously one toward nature, or a comfortable place. Older in this song I think references perspective and experiences, If I could walk away from me implies "If I didn't have to go through all of this" (being depleted and breaking down) Quiet places are the loneliest of spaces, to me it's contemplating really important and personal material to one's life and big decisions are usually ones that alter the course of our lives. Could be anything... desires, fears, wishes, the list goes on and on when you start to internally evaluate your life. Great song. |

| Modest Mouse – Make Everyone Happy/Mechanical Birds Lyrics

I think it's looking back at least for a day, or moment, a period you went through. You can't make everyone happy is the point, you can only do what you do. You have to move on for life's sake.... it's that lesson that you have to make yourself happy even if others with you aren't... it's like that selfish but guilty feeling you get.... gotta take care of yourself, you can't make other's happy, that is they're responsibility. |

| Modest Mouse – Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset Lyrics
| 9 years ago

|
I think it's denying yourself of the obvious, when it's already there. It's a situation irony that the universe exhibits. When one feels undeserving while all the time, is in fact, deserving. It's about being pissed at injustice towards your situation and not finding an outlet. So the person is beating themselves up about hence their mind changing all the time, they do not trust themselves. It's about being in a shitty situation... and the sunset is a way of closing it down, saying goodbye to another day. Not every song has a epiphany. Sometimes songs are about being disappointed. |

WHat I get from this song is that you want to be and do good, but it's so hard to have the nerve to trust anybody. TO me it's about learning the hard way about being a good person and realizing all the everyday shit people do to each other. This is about standing up about it and not giving a shit anymore, you will not put up with stupid shit lol. Many ways to view this song though. That's why I love tool. |

I think this song is about yes communication and also tones of relationships and relations with others.. many references... golden boy being someone who is of importance, or you know THE GOLDEN BOY :) this could be related to someone who has lost sight of the gift of themselves and other people helping him/her to realize who they are again, In my opinion it's a very touching piece of music. |

| Echo and the Bunnymen – Ocean Rain Lyrics

I like to think of this song as a theme for one's truest self. Over flowing emotions as well, this song is about coming out from something which has buried you, whether your sight, trust, love for another, or a long awaited self discovery or revelation. It's about breathing, remember your real form. Like wise this song is versatile in the reals of interpretation. Blackest thoughts, black is void and absence symbolically... the ocean are elements of the earth which is water... hurricane's damage land but the ocean and rain aren't at all really effected. to me this suggest's an outpouring of one's absence which comes back in full fruition as vengence coming out of the dark to even a score. lol, such a beautiful song of course. |

I think it's about questioning a situation and realizing something along the lines of "WHAT AM I DOING" and what is this, the who, what, why, where and when.... and then realizing, is this the way I am really living. Everyone wants to be and feel free..... good contemplative statement by the CHEESE. |

I think this song is about finding ways to express yourself and also live deeper into life and all it's mysteries. While that is its own thing, it's not normal for any one to "freak out" give in... I think that's saying be yourself or what/who you've always wanted to be... be somebody's fool this year... means to do something out of the ordinary... live outside your comfort zone... I think this song is exactly about doing what you've never done. |

TO me it speaks about how one person can have so many things going well for them, and the other person wants that and is frustrated... it's about being stuck I think, either feelings about someone, an old important connection with someone e.t.c.... It's kind of like feeling and thinking about someone important and guessing they are doing good without you and that there were happy things to feel about. Beautiful... because these people probably were thinking about each other, while far away...... |

its like knowing people are eating your lifeblood... testing your patience, consuming and latching onto you like ticks and leeches... suck off your blood, your patience, your time... drain the shit out of you... taking what they want... and in turn making you bitter and pissed because at one time you were probably very patient and nice and this is now your reason for saying fuck you... I love this song. |

I think it's about how we perceive the media and events and bullshit, politics, opinions... all the things that stink and aren't clear... and also about the things that are clear say in life as well, like someone who is your lover or brother and them teaching you to understand it, like chill out ya know... make us hate/bleed... basically buying into bad ideas and life styles... the whole song I think is the combination of all of this and it still not making sense, yet. |

to me this is about taking risks... and not getting caught up in religious beliefs or ways of living... this ain't the summer of love to me simply means you are not finding what your looking for... so I'm catching the idea BOC is not all about happy stuff, but listening to them doesn't make me feel depressed... more of a realist. |

to me the song is relates to when you feel alone and the most of "others" have gone away... maybe because of what you are going through or the position you find yourself in... Astronomy in this case is something that is very interesting and a star being something unique most likely to yourself.... Really listening to BOC makes me appreciate being on my own journey. |

| The Smashing Pumpkins – To Forgive Lyrics

i think it's about being disappointed basically and always banging against that wall that all your hopes of something good always reverting back to the same disappointments, a never ending ending cycle of "nothing is important" the bastard son to me is a reference a perspective perhaps victimizing one's self on past experiences e.t.c. very traumatic imagery, certainly the song covers some deep emotional experiences which were tragic and about coming to terms with forgiving what has happened... I relate to this song in terms of being disappointed with the state of affairs, also about how I would behave around others whether it be family or friends "I forget to forget me" which simply means I don't need to beat myself up I can accept myself and move on hece "to forgive". |

| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Wet Sand Lyrics
| 11 years ago
|
|
to me it's about another day in the life with someone who is used to being disappointed by everyday life (with whatever the norm is). He finds someone to accommodate him. This is more about his life, his point of view in being in the presence of his lover. Wet sand means to me is a metaphor for being on beach (easy life) wet sand would be his more aware of an easy life and doesn't want to live such an easy life or easy way out of what he is observing about the world. He sees a way out from things as what would be expected from him but isn't satisfied with an easy way out because he cares about what is happening. A beautiful metaphor because he is going against expectation. He is finding beauty in his life all the while, he is very contemplative with his situation. Or it could be the way feels before getting married I don't know. Wet sand to means he is conscious of a beachy attitude towards life but also is realistic and not laying himself down to be to easy, he doesn't wan't to be lazy as others may as well be. |
