| Neutral Milk Hotel – A Baby for Pree Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
I can't help but wonder who "Pree" is. "Pree" is mentioned in this song, Pree-Sisters Swallowing A Donkey's Eye, Ruby Bulbs, etc. But who is she? Does it mean anything at all, or is it just a placeholder name? |

There's the theory that the instrumental melody is saying "I love you" and then there's cavelier's interpretation of "I'm ready"...but recently I've been hearing something new. "I'm aware of you." It just came to me the other day out of nowhere. Maybe it's just me, though. |

| Pink Floyd – Echoes Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| To me, the song seems to represent loneliness and isolation. I think it's relatively obvious--the song is titled "Echoes". When do echoes occur? When you're alone in a closed/empty space. | |
| Neutral Milk Hotel – Two-Headed Boy Pt. 2 Lyrics | 13 years ago |
| This song..I love this song so much. It hits me on such a personal level that I can't help but tear up and get chills every time I listen to it. I remember never really caring for this album until one night where I heard this and sat there taking it in for at least half an hour, shocked and crying from the raw, pure emotion in this song. | |
| Neutral Milk Hotel – The King of Carrot Flowers Pts. 2 and 3 Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
The lines "I love you Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ I love you" are replaced in the booklet with a small explanation by Jeff. "...and now a song for Jesus Christ. And since this seems to confuse people I'd like to simply say that I mean what I sing although the theme of endless endless on this album is not based on any religion but more in the belief that all things seem to contain a white light within them that I see as eternal." Just thought I'd let everyone know in case it helps anyone interpret it better. |

| Pink Floyd – Outside the Wall Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Pink has tore down his wall, and it reveals in this song that many people have a wall, and as one gets rid of theirs, another person builds their own. Pink's story ends with "Isn't this where.." And another person builds their wall and goes through the same cycle at "...we came in?" |

| I thought I was the only one hearing it. | |
| Nirvana – Scoff Lyrics | 13 years ago |
|
Scoff simply makes me think of someone who has fallen out of a relationship that started of good, but turned sour and dysfunctional in the end. The two were on completely different pages; Person A was in a bad situation they were working to get out of. Person B was greedy and wanted only the best for themselves, so when Person A did their best to explain that they still had confidence in themselves and could get out of what had become of their life, Person B did not sympathize, instead, they just scoffed at them. I interpret "give me back my alcohol" a bit differently. You could imagine it as literally alcohol, but I imagine it more as whatever it was that made Person A feel contempt and pure in their life that Person B had taken away. Hell, that could be alcohol. But I see it a bit loosely. |
